I received your darling Woodstock bike button today and I love it! It will look so great as the center button on a tween handbag I am making (a bright bicylces print). I found some tiny Woodstock on a bike buttons also, and some tiny red bikes. I will send you a photo when I'm done with it. Still waiting for yellow leather handles! I am super-pleased! Thanks!

About

"Found the flooring section of Lowes!"... and so it starts.

My husband, Dallas, is an experimental artist. He enjoys using unconventional materials and methods to create his artwork and was inspired by a walk through Lowes hardware store. Many of the paintings in our shop are painted on floor tiles... instead of the typical canvas. "Why floor tiles?", I ask. "Why not?", he answers.

It is not entirely unusual for me to come home and find my husband standing on the roof while dripping paint onto a canvas that's lying on the ground, one story below. Or to discover him in the center of a tarp-filled room, crouching over a lazy suzan, wildly spinning and splattering paint all around then suddenly pausing to carefully exact a detail of his budding creation with the tip of a screwdriver.

His enthusiasm and sense of humor are evident in his work. Pair that with his vivid color scheme and the result is electric!

Also in the shop are a few of my own creations. Lately, creating collage art has been my way of making friends and family laugh. The collages are made from images that I cut out of old books (mostly encyclopedias and textbooks) that I find at garage sales and thrift stores. It's a stress-free form of art that challenges me to create humorous and bizarre narratives with a single image. If they make you roll your eyes, giggle, or raise an eyebrow in mildly confused amusement, then I've done my job right.

In all, my husband and I started our Onesidered shop in order to share with the world a little of what we think is interesting. So enjoy, have fun, and thanks for reading about us!
