Great belt, well made. Please make sure that you give a belt length, not a waist measurement if you order one. Mine is too short, and exchanges are not given. Disappointed.

I returned to Newcastle with an idea to learn skills. As a result I ended up doing a leatherwork course and volunteering as a bicycle mechanic at a community bike workshop called Recyke Y'Bike. Despite recycling as much as possible they end up with a surplus of broken parts and old tyres.
I got to thinking: how can I save these things? What can I make? Belts was an obvious starting point and from there, through experimenting and trial and error, I've designed satchels and tool bags, gimp dolls and wallets.
I'll keep thinking of new things, making sculptures and public art. I'm going to learn to weld and get crazy with broken frames.
I called it Man About Town purely so I could have a business card that read:

Man About Town
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
Raised by wolves, taught by zen masters, dressed by himself. Jake likes cake, to make and is considered a rake.
