esoteric mysterious occult found object jewelry @ opulent oddities

i'm a different kind of girl. i make jewelry for the different kind of girls. i think fashion and personal style are empowering. i know that wearing purple lipstick and slinky chain hand harnesses makes me feel invincible. i know that wearing store-bought, factory-made accoutrements feels like a costume for assimilation. i know there are others like me.

my style and designs are always evolving to inspire my curious customers. what excites me as a designer is bridging two different ideas together that i haven't played with before. i'm always looking for new inspirations--something i haven't seen before, something i've never heard of. i take these new, weird ideas and merge them with something i am comfortable with. my next step? make it wearable.

i started on etsy in 2006, when i was 18. I hadn't been making jewelry long - but my entrepreneurial spirit pushed me to sell my work. i have had immense success. thousands of people wear my designs - including influential taste-makers, bloggers, artists and celebrities. i've had my work in boutiques and galleries around the world. i've been published in magazines. when i think about the sheer number of people who own one of my designs its unbelievable. of course i'm flattered that celebrities and stylists continue to buy my work, but when i think about the people who gave me a chance in my early days and the people who stick by me and my brand after years and the people who share my shop links/pages with others and the people who place an order after saving up -- i am overwhelmed. its truly humbling. i am so grateful for all of you.

i'm a culture hound and i draw inspiration from almost everything i see. i love alternative street fashion, different mythologies/spirituality/religion, silent movies, old photographs, american iconography, hyper-femininity, alt hip hop, witch craft, industrial architecture, occult/horror, low brow art, feminism, and my personal experiences. follow my tumblr to see my different inspirations. probably nsfw: opulentoddities.tumblr.com

its important to me that i buy all of my supplies from independent businesses or individuals, whether that's at a flea market or from someone selling supplies here on etsy, my money goes to an individual. i love/collect/sell antiques and i will always incorporate repurposed vintage into my designs. when you buy vintage items, you are not only supporting individuals making a living from selling their vintage and antique items, but you are also NOT supporting big business, which is important!

everything is made by my hands in my home with little help from my cat and dogs.

i'm a deeply curious person. my jewelry is inspired by my current curiosities and obsessions and bringing them into a new, wearable light. i dabble in printmaking, illustration and assemblage and religiously hunt for found objects and antiques.

Items are shipped within 1-3 days from the purchase date. Items are packed in bubble wrap or a gift box in a padded bubble mailer for security. All items are sent through the USPS. Domestic and Canadian packages come with delivery confirmation.

Tracking Info:

If you are wondering where your parcel is, please go to the "Your Account" tab and then select "Purchases." There will be a list of all your purchases. If the item is marked as "Shipped" there will be a delivery confirmation number which you can click on. This will show you (roughly) where your item is at and that it has been shipped and when it has been received.

Please note that this number is a delivery confirmation number and not a tracking number. That means your parcel may not be scanned at all locations and the information may not be updated in a timely fashion until it is delivered. Once the parcel is in the hands of the USPS, I have no control over it. Insurance and expedited shipping is available and encouraged to secure your parcel.

Shipping Times:

In the US, standard shipping usually takes 3-5 days after you have received your shipping confirmation. International takes 2 - 10 weeks after receiving your shipping confirmation. Shipping upgrades are available at checkout.

Please make sure you contact me if you do not receive your package in a timely manner. Please refer to the usps website (usps.com) for information on shipping times. Shipping time is different depending which country or part of the country you reside in. Shipping times are subject to the American postal system's holidays, schedule, strikes, etc.

Shipping Upgrades:

Shipping upgrades are available at checkout.

Insurance is available on most international and domestic packages. Please contact me before checkout.

International Parcels:

I can not mark the customs form as "gift" for you. There may be some duty tax or fee on the receiving end, but that is responsibility of the recipient.

Wholesale + Business Opportunities

I’d love to sell to your brick and mortar or online boutique. Please contact me via ohjoranne [!at] gmail.com or etsy's convo system.

Custom Orders:

I love working together with my customers to make something absolutely perfect. Please request a custom order through a convo or the "request custom order" button. You can use this button for altering different items in the shop, too (for example, changing the finish of the chain - adding or removing charms, etc).

Custom orders may require a down payment to cover supplies and time. Every project is different, but payment terms and turn around will be discussed ahead of time. Custom orders aren't refundable unless they are misrepresented OR defective. Coupon codes/discounts do not apply to custom orders. Please contact me and we can work together to create something just for you!

Taking Care of Your Jewelry:

In my jewelry, I use lots of antique one of a kind and vintage found objects and natural "taxidermy" and raw crystals. These objects may be delicate and need to be worn with care. Please do not sleep, swim, exercise or bathe in your jewelry to help prolong the life of your jewelry.

Brass, sterling and copper will oxidize with most skin types. You can protect them with clear nail polish to protect your skin. or use home remedies or metal cleaners to keep them in shiny condition.

If ever you have a question concerning the proper care of a piece, please ask!

I love to work with bloggers and artists/designers to help mutually promote our businesses. Please contact me via convo or ohjoranne [!at] gmail.com
