Announcement   Original Ancient Egyptian and Latin papyrus art and prints shipped worldwide, often with a geek twist. Currently open by request only.

Maybe some other things, too.

Unsold "Last Chance Sale" items won't be relisted. I have sold my supplies and equipment so resin and polymer clay jewelry are limited to items in stock and as-is.

Art for Geeks is a One-and-a-Half Person Operation

How do cats, history, comics and Sci Fi parodies all fit together here?

My obsession with Ancient Egypt started at an extremely early age with my interest in cats. I thought Bastet was playing Cat Woman on the Batman reruns. The capes on that show led to a more than minor obsession with Darth Vader, who had a much better cape, which somehow combined with Poe and Hawthorne to create an oddly cheerful, even-tempered goth sometime later. Temporarily.

I wore cat ears made of construction paper to my second grade class. Several times. My brother wore a Superman cape. My mother, a teacher in the school system, supported both of us. This should come as no surprise, as in addition to reading to us constantly she used Doctor Who and Star Trek to explain life lessons and Godzilla movies to explain conservation.

I eventually figured out Bastet wasn't Cat Woman on my own....

My dad was one of several art teachers in the same school system. I had all of them for class at one point or another, but he was the only one who taught any art history. In the summer he took us to every museum or historical site within driving distance, and some of my favorite memories are of leafing through the plates of his books and helping to sort and put away art supplies for the coming year.

My son, 4 years old this year, loves reading about super heroes, whether they happen to be named Gilgamesh, Achilles or Tony Stark. He helps me put away supplies in my studio and is my acting quality control officer, making sure the cats I draw have names and my jewelry packages contain candy.

He's even more sure King Tut is a robot after seeing Age of Ultron.

All items are made and packaged in my non-smoking, pet-friendly home, (though the pets are not allowed in my studio unless they figure out how to remove their fur coats!)

I do my best to make sure the photos match what you're going to receive, BUT:

Mobile screens may increase contrast and saturation. If you're looking to get something expensive you may want to check on a standard laptop or workplace computer screen.

Polymer clay items in a model or series may differ slightly from the item pictured and may include some discoloration because they are all handmade.

CUSTOM ORDERS: I am no longer able to accept custom orders, but I consider suggestions as long as it's something I can sell more than once.

Returns and exchanges
Like almost everywhere else, I will happily refund or replace items grossly different from the description or damaged during shipping, but I cannot refund shipping and handling costs.

(I've never actually had this happen in over 20 years of online sales.)
I accept :

** Etsy Direct Checkout (Fastest Shipping, generally less than 24 hours) **
Etsy Gift Cards:
Paypal, including echecks. Echecks may take a week or more to clear but I will ship as soon as they do.

Paypal orders may ship through Etsy's label printer. (Paypal's shipping area goes down randomly and I like to ship ASAP.)

I generally ship the next day. Most of my listings say they will ship in 1-3 business days but that is a precautionary measure for Paypal glitches, family medical emergencies, internet failure, and alien invasion.

TAXES: I will have to charge sales tax to residents of Georgia.

CANCELLATION: You can cancel an order before receiving shipping notification. I do printing and packaging between 4 and 9 AM EST and usually bring them to the post office in person by 2.
METHODS: I ship by 2PM EST via First Class mail M-F with USPS tracking in a bubble mailer or rigid mailer for most items, regardless of destination. Books may be shipped Media Mail. You will receive a shipment notification from either Paypal or Etsy when your package is ready and it will be shipped the next time 2PM rolls around.

All jewelry shipments come with hard candies when possible. Besides just being nice, it forces your package to be handled manually instead of by a machine.

SHIPPING DISCOUNTS can be used for multiple prints/flats or multiple bulky items like jewelry, but I cannot combine jewelry and prints in the same package. Ordering separately would be your quickest option (unless you prefer I invoice you for the missing postage).

DELIVERY CONFIRMATION (now USPS tracking) : I use tracking whenever available.

I will refund or replace items lost in transit before receiving a Delivery Confirmation scan, but I will consider an item delivered if the Post Office provides a valid Delivery Confirmation scan at the final destination.

HOLIDAY SHIPPING OVERSEAS: Please allow an extra week or two between Halloween and New Year's Day for overseas orders. I ship ASAP but in the past few years there have been occasional backups at the post office and customs.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS: Buyer is responsible for all customs fees and disputes. I list items whose main material is polymer clay as "costume jewelry", but your customs officials may disagree. Every item I sell is potentially dutiable.

DROP SHIPPING: Etsy allows it but I'm not comfortable with drop-shipping at this time. Everything comes directly from me after inspection even if it's printed elsewhere.
