About orangepeel
orange peel sews
Growing up my mom was a quilter and seamstress, we always had handmade quilts and clothing and I learned to value the work of her hands. It wasn't until I married and started my own family that I felt the desire to fill my own home with one of a kind handmade items made with love and attention to detail. I hope my children will grow up inspired by color and texture and know that when you are wrapped in a handmade quilt, it means somebody loves you.
When I decided to start selling, I knew I wanted a colorful shop name. The name orange peel came partly from my favorite color being orange, and partly from my second son who would eat the whole orange, including the peel. I've always loved the smell of peeling an orange, it reminds me of Christmas and skiing and winter and family. All of these are happy feelings I hope to evoke with colorful, texture rich, well made stitched goods.
This is a very small enterprise composed of me myself and I. It is very important to me to send the best quality items out into the world to be loved and used. I try to keep my prices reasonable while still respecting the time and effort it takes me to make things but really I do this for the love, not the money. I'm careful what I spend my "quilt money" on and it is usually to do something special for my family or to give a gift or service to someone. Please know that your support of my little shop is very much appreciated.

Shop policies
RETURNS: I want you to be delighted with what you buy from me so I do accept returns, minus shipping charges as those are not refundable to me and unfortunately not free for me. You will be responsible for return shipping also. Refund will be given when item is received by me in excellent condition.
PLEASE PLEASE read listings carefully, and get out a measuring tape to avoid confusion. Almost the only returns I ever make are because someone didn't read the listing carefully and thought they were ordering a kit instead of a completed quilt or vice versa, or the size wasn't what they expected. All of my listings are clearly marked so please please save us both some trouble and make sure you are ordering what you need.
I try to keep a good variety of items in stock. I have been sewing for about 20 years and love to make beautiful, high quality handmade items for people. I try to keep prices as low as I can while still valuing my time and energy. Many items listed in my shop will be made to order just for you so feel free to request changes and also please be flexible with any fabric substitutions that need to be made. I'm a very small business and stock things in small quantities rather than mass producing the same things over and over so sometimes I run low on certain fabrics.

Within the U.S. I ship first class for packages under 15 oz and everything heavier goes Priority Mail.
I will ship any item internationally, please convo me if the option isn't there. International orders, I ship first class to keep prices down. I usually put some outlandish shipping charge and if it ends up being less I will refund you any significant difference. Please contact me before purchasing if you want different service than first class.
