About OriginalSpinKnits

Sales 237
On Etsy since 2012

I am a longtime knitter and fan of textiles and needlecraft. After many years of knitting things from other people's patterns, I decided to make my own. Through this shop I share both original finished products and cool designs for knitters out there who want to make their own stuff. I try to both incorporate classic looks to honor the long tradition of knitting and needle crafts, and bring in fun and modern ideas as a way to keep knitting relevant, especially for women.
The name came from a conversation with my sister, Kasia, creator of Collected Edition, when I told her about the kinds of designs I wanted to share. At the time I was learning to spin, and she suggested the name. In a lot of ways Eve is the OG bad bitch rebel girl, rejecting a life of peace and ignorance for an understanding of the world. At least that's how I chose to see her. So I liked the name. Time for us to use what has been around us all along to try to make our world more beautiful.

When your group of mid-twenties friends has been nicknamed the "Omaverein," or "grandma club," but the unofficial motto is "smash the patriarchy," you end up with work that reflects the tradition and care of a grandma, but with a dash of rebellion.

Frequently asked questions
I misunderstood and purchased a pattern, when I really wanted a finished product. What can I do?

I try to be very clear in my listings which items are finished and ready to go, and which items are patterns so that YOU can have the fun of knitting yourself something cool. I understand that mistakes happen, but by the nature of the product, once you’ve received the download link from Etsy, you have the product, so it cannot be returned or cancelled. If you were really hoping for a finished product, contact me, and I will make it for you, subtracting the price of the pattern from what I charge for the finished version.
