Announcement   There's some big news here at Oropa...I decided, after having one last argument with my torch last night, that I will be moving away from almost exclusively custom/handmade and toward more commercial manufacturing of my original designs.

I think the vast majority of jewelry buyers don't care if something is handmade or not, and are more interested in getting a nice piece for a low price. So, I'm going that way. I've already chopped my prices...designs that can and will be manufactured will be even cheaper than before!

This will hopefully bring me more business AND leave me time to work on other jewelry-making techniques I really love but almost never get to use: enameling, wax carving, engraving...

I'll still have many custom, made-to-order designs in my shop, and will always take design requests. So don't fret! There will be something for everyone, in every budget. Hooray for change!

Big news here at Oropa: I decided that I will be moving away from custom and toward duplication of my own designs. I think the vast majority of jewelry buyers don't care if something is handmade, but want a nice piece for a low price. Hooray for change!

About

scientist throws it all away to become a starving artist

I spend lots of time and energy in creating the new techniques and styles that make Oropa Jewelry special...things you have never seen before. In the middle of the night, while you are asleep, I am in my studio trying not to blow things up...

My approach to art is to be fearless and then to accept fate. Even my worst failures can be utilized if I give them a chance! I appreciate my materials and their personalities and characteristics, and, instead of considering myself to be their master, consider myself part of a partnership.

My aesthetic is unpretentious and imperfect. I realized years ago that to attempt perfection is to try to rival nature, and I am not proud enough to think I can accomplish it. I love natural, raw, wild, but tasteful and delicate forms. I focus on creating a final piece which respects aesthetic guidelines like balance, proportion, functionality, perspective, content, significance or non-significance, relationship, composition, logic. I want a wearer to be able to appreciate the process that I go through in building a piece, and to know why his jewelry is special :)

Hi! Welcome to the world of Oropa Jewelry, where everything is new and unique.

Oropa is unpretentious, everyday jewelry for people who want to wear things that are as cool, clever, beautiful and imperfect as they are.

Buy the products of my fascination with nature and experimentation, and love them for a lifetime :)

Any piece can be happily customized according to the buyer's requests... just pass your ideas by me and I will make them work.

Custom designs also executed with extra pleasure!

Shipping
For most items I charge for basic Israel Post international shipping by default, but I prefer (and recommend you select the upgrade!) to use EcoPost (expedited 3-10 day shipping with tracking). I can't be responsible for lost mail, sorry!

DHL is also included as a shipping upgrade option, and, while pricey, might be best depending on the value of the package and the destination. DHL includes insurance, delivery confirmation and tracking code.

For ALL types of shipment, buyer receives emailed photo of package and its shipping label.

Customer pays any customs fees as applicable. Each country has its own weird and unpredictable ways of determining when to charge customs, and I can't predict when you might get charged.
