From our home to yours

Welcome to our teeny tiny furniture company! A friend in Chicago told me about Etsy back in 2010. We started our Etsy shop in 2011, refinishing vintage furniture out of our tiny 2 bedroom 800 sq ft home in Vancouver, WA. We didn't have a garage or a shop so we turned our 2nd bedroom into a work space. After a year or so of refinishing vintage furniture we decided it was becoming difficult to find affordable pieces. We both lost our jobs during the economy crash and really needed to figure out a way to make a living. We would not be building furniture today if Etsy wasn't here to inspire us.

As vintage furniture became more expensive and more difficult to find, we realized it was time to learn how to make our own. Our tiny 2nd bedroom turned into a real woodworking shop! We had a table saw in there and everything! The living room was our shipping area. Things got a bit crazy, so once business became the real thing, we purchased a shed and put it in the back yard. That shed became our wood shop for quite a while. Once the bedroom was no longer a wood shop, we have to scrub the walls down and replace the carpet. Good thing we owned the home and wasn't renting! It was a mess in there.

After a few years of building furniture out of a shed, we were finally able to purchase a larger house with a larger work space. Today, we happily live and work in Toledo, WA! We moved to a tiny little town in the country and we use our 1.5 car garage as our wood shop and a utility room as our finishing / shipping room. We love small town living. Everyone is so friendly.

Why place your order with us? Every single time you send us a message, you talk to just 1 person, the owner / creator of this business. Since 2011, we have learned the "do's and don'ts" of furniture making and furniture shipping. We now have the experience that provides high quality craftsmanship with top notch joinery and excellent customer service! You can always count on us for quality and reliability! We were one of the first mid century modern furniture makers to find our way to Etsy and we do it right! When you shop with us you really are shopping small. Most furniture makers have large shops with employees. We do everything ourselves! From gathering supplies and picking out lumber to taping up the boxes. We do it all ourselves.

We will continue to stay small and stay true the handmade. You might have to wait a while for your furniture but it is always worth it!

Returns and exchange details
In the furniture business returns can be tricky due to the size and fragile nature of the items. We cannot accept returns on items that are extremely customized to fit a very specific purpose or certain color schemes that are outside of our usual finish colors. We will determine if the custom item you ordered is returnable. If we can easily resell it, you can return it. If you would like to return your furniture, send us a message so we can discuss your options. On all FREE SHIPPING items, your refund will have a restocking fee deducted, equal to the actual shipping cost of the item that we paid at the time the order shipped. All return shipping costs must be paid by the customer.

If you would like to return your furniture, you will have to package it the same we we packaged it and pay for return shipping. Once the item is received we will refund your order amount minus the shipping charges you paid. If the item arrives damaged, we might deduct damages from the refund, depending on the extent of the damage. Please package very carefully if you are returning your order.

You must message us first to find out if you qualify for a return. We will work with you if you are unhappy with your purchase. There's many solutions to a problem and we are here to help.

For VINTAGE items, everything is sold "AS IS" unless a special arrangement for a return has been previously discussed.

For all items, if there is a mistake we made causing the return of any item, then we will pay for the return.
Payment
Full payment is due at time of order placed. We accept credit cards via Etsy direct checkout and PayPal. Your credit card will be charged at the time of the order.

Once your payment has been submitted you will be placed next in line and all orders are built in the order of received. When your order is preparing to ship, you will get tracking info uploaded to your order.
Shipping
When your order ships, you will be notified with tracking #'s. We ship via Fedex. We have found that they are the best at handling our furniture. We rarely encounter damage claims. We package each piece with the highest amount of care to ensure safe delivery.

Our shipping times range from 1 month to 6 months. Each item for order in our shop will say how long to expect. Coffee tables without drawers or doors have the smallest time.

IF you do receive a damaged shipment, send us a message with photos right away. We will file a claim for you. Damages shipments, depending on the circumstances and the severity will get a full refund, partial refund or full replacement. That will be determined after the claim has been filed. All shipments are insured and FedEx will determine what the reimbursement will be for a damage claim.
Additional policies and FAQs
We only use solid wood for the structure of our furniture. We do not use particle board, ever! We do use quality birch plywood for backs and doors. We never use plywood for the structure of the furniture, as veneer will chip on corners and edges leaving unsightly chunks missing from the beautiful finish. Pine and other solid woods will not chip as it's solid through to the core. If it gets damaged over the years from use, pine is easily repairable and easy to refinish to look new again.

The birch ply doors and drawer faces along with the solid pine, gives a beautiful wood grain contrast, keeping our furniture modern. Don't fear that traditional outdated pine furniture! We have created a modern spin on pine and it is fabulous!!

Custom and personalized orders

We love custom orders! Send us a message with what you want and if we can build it, we will! Send photos, drawings, dimensions, etc.... We NEVER charge extra for custom. We only charge extra or charge less if dimensions or additions change enough to alter the price up or down.

How do I clean my furniture?

We use a low voc water based polyurethane to finish our furniture. This provides a smooth finish that brings out the beauty in the wood and is great for standing up to moisture. It doesn't have a strong odor like lacquer does. Simply wipe clean with a water damp rag or use wood cleaner, such as Murpheys orange or Method almond wood cleaner. We also like to use the natural disinfecting wipes, they work great too. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sponges.

What if my shipment arrives damaged?

Damage rarely happens because we package very well. If it does happen, we don't make you file the claim because we are the shipper and the shipper files the claim. All shipments are insured. Any damage claims will be handled on a case by case basis. If your furniture does arrive damaged, take photos right away of the damage and the packaging. Repair kit, partial compensation, full compensation or a replacement will be issued, depending on the circumstances. Compensation will be determined by FedEx insurance claim specialist, once the claim is processed.

Why do we use pine wood?

Timber is usually classified as either hardwood, from broad leafed trees like beech and oak, or softwood from conifers like pine and fir. Simply because they're replaceable, fast-growing species like pine trees tend to be more sustainable than slow-growing trees like oak, maple and walnut.

We are proud to make our furniture of our pine wood! Its economical, it is easier to ship than any other wood and it allows us to sell amazing quality wood furniture for a fraction of the price. You don't really need to spend the extra money on hardwoods to have quality furniture.

Our turn around times can vary. We continue to receive new orders daily. We do work 7 days a week (most weeks) Different items can take longer, so please read the description of each item to see how long it can take to build.

Can I cancel my order?

You are welcome to cancel your order if it has not yet been built or shipped. Please contact us right away if you want to cancel, and if we have not started building your project we will cancel and fully refund. Vintage items cannot be canceled because we ship those quickly.

How much weight does your furniture hold?

Our furniture holds the weight of what it is intended for. Do not sit, stand or use the furniture in any other way than what we have described it to be used as.

Sofa tables: lamp, decor items, books...
Bookshelves: books, lamps, decor items...
Record cabinets: records, books, lamps...

How are your prices so low?

We want to offer solid wood furniture that doesn't cost much more than the particle board / plywood stuff. We do not have employees, we do not have a store, we do not have a shop. We work from our small garage from our home out in the countryside. We keep our production costs low so we can keep our prices low. We don't have overhead costs. There's no middle man here! You purchase and talk directly with the owners and creators. Every single time you send us a message, you will speak to the same person (Christy) every single time.

It's just the 2 of us designing, building and shipping. That is why we take so long!
