I love, love, love the uniqueness of this necklace. I've bought 4-5 things from Wanda, and they are all super-special....packaged in a gorgeous art-full box I can't even describe. Yes!

▼▼▼Ostra-Berdo is my mom's thing▼▼▼

Indeed, my mom. Long story short goes like this:

►Mom goes on ffffound.
After several hours of browsing, totally mesmerized by all the eye candy, she exclaimed: "My entire teenage life is there: the jeans, the glasses, the hair, the jewels, even the picture quality".

►"So, I want it back."
A few more days spent browsing later, shuffling and piling up research material on various tumblrs , blogs and shops, an exhausting search for the suppliers and then several weeks of work until she got blisters on her fingers, plus some magic only mom can do, here we are.

►A whole line of handmade jewels made by her, in the studio, on the kitchen table and in the backyard.
Brass and copper geometric necklaces and headpieces, beaded and fringe wristbands - all that with a slight vintage touch, some new age feeling but all fitting the lines of contemporary and minimal geometry.

►They're all handmade, hence the small differences between the pieces, but hey, no harm to nature was done. She used all natural material (she wouldn't like to upset the forests) and vintage suede pieces. Therefore some care should be given to the items since you wouldn't like them to age before their time. Here's some simple tips that might help you with most accessories:

▸▸▸Brass/copper bits may darken in time. Yet the surfaces can be easily buffed with a cloth to shine. However, do avoid buffing patinated parts, they might easily scratch and cannot be repaired.
▸▸▸Chains and small parts will oxidize and maintain an antique look, even after buffing.
▸▸▸Long exposure to water or chemicals (such as perfumes, shampoo) might harm the pieces, they might fade/get stained.
▸▸▸They are adorable when worn in the long summer days on the beach but keep them away from the temper of the elements. Do use sunscreen, but keep your jewelry away from it. Oils and oily creams may stain matte surfaces.
▸▸▸All leather parts are vintage. They might also leak and they will be harmed from the exposure to water and chemicals. Use a rubber to clean them gently instead of washing them with shampoo or water.

...are available. Small adjustments to the pieces can be made, such as the chain length or the overall or pipe size. Contact us for these matters.

Most parts are handmade (except small chains) so there can be minor differences among items.

Not the name of a designer, favorite band, or our grandparents surnames. Instead the name originates from two mountains in Northern Transylvania.
Between them there's a dam and thus a lake. That lake holds a special place in our hearts, it's a place where we used to go when I was a kid. Swimming in the lake, digging in the ground, picking tiny frogs and snail carcasses, dry leaves in the autumn and throwing snowballs in the winter.
Why does this matter? Because, while the mountains are still part of our home's window view each day, it all was the start of Ostra-Berdo as it is today.

Umm, guess this was quite the long story after all.
