Otter Creek Double Reeds LLC is a small business run Kathy Jansen, an oboist and her husband Dan Jansen, a bassoonist both with over 30 years experience in reed-making and performance. Kathy served 20 years in the Air National guard as a military bandsman. She is also a middle school band director. Dan is a freelance musician and works in logistics management.
We specialize in unique reed cases, cane and finished oboe and bassoon reeds. We are always looking for unique ways to recycle hardwoods into drying racks, cutting blocks, and easels.
We recently started making bassoon reed scoring tools with a new tool to be introduced soon!
