These are the best dishcloths ever! They are beautifully crafted, work well, and last forever. Plus, my order was prepared and shipped super fast. Couldn't be happier!

I bought this beautiful shawl for my Icelandic mother-in-law and she absolutely loves it! Soft AND classy, it was exactly as promised. What's more, OtterMoonDesigns went above and beyond to get it out in time for Christmas. (We had trouble connecting via e-mail but she went ahead and shipped to be sure it got there and it did!) Thank you for a lovely experience and a beautiful one-of-a-kind gift that will be treasured for years. (and for making me look good with my mother-in-law! ;-)

About

I want to knit things that you want to wear!

Though I have spent time making art in a variety of forms, it seems that knitting has become the one that speaks to me. Actually, it sometimes yells, and almost never shuts up! Over the years, I have focused my knitting muse into what you see in my shop, and will continue to refine and focus the offerings.

One thing that remains constant is my desire to knit quality. I will only use the best materials, and usually natural fibers for lasting comfort.

Knitting has been a way of life for me since 1998. It's a rare day that I don't knit at least a little, and I am always dreaming up the next project. All designs in the shop are my own, but I admit that inspiration is everywhere!

Shop policies

Last updated on February 3, 2011
Thank you for browsing my shop! I hope you are enjoying yourself. I check in here at least once a day, so if you ever have any questions for me, I can respond fairly quickly.

Most of my designs are invented "on the needles", so there are no specific patterns that I use. This means that most items are one of a kind, but as I am a creature of habit, I can probably come close to reproducing something in a different color or size. I have occasionally been persuaded to write down pattern notes for myself, if you know that you will want another of the same item in the future.

Also, I have lately become infatuated with handspun yarn from my fellow etsians. Any designs made from these yarns are truly one of a kind, as I design those projects specifically for that yarn's quantity, thickness, and texture.

I love what I do here, and I want you to be just as happy as I am, so I am always open to your requests and suggestions!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
Payment is generally due at checkout. However, if there are extenuating circumstances, please contact me and we'll talk. Paypal is the quickest and easiest way to pay at my shop, but I will certainly accept other forms of payment when necessary.
Shipping
I almost always ship the day of or day after your payment clears. All but the very smallest items are shipped Priority Mail, so you can expect your package in a timely manner, with a delivery confirmation so we both know where your package is. If I have grossly overestimated shipping costs, I will issue you a refund through Paypal.

I offer free shipping on any orders over $100. The shipping amount will be refunded to you after purchase, or you can convo me and wait for a revised invoice.
If you are purchasing a gift, I would be happy to dress it up and send it right to the recipient with your message included.

International customers:
I will ship your purchase in the least expensive way available, and will issue a refund if you have overpaid.

All customers:
I aim to please! If you have a shipping preference, I would be happy to accommodate. Please note that I use new priority mail boxes, but all other shipping materials are probably reused, and always clean.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not happy with your purchase, please contact me within two weeks of receiving your package, and I will work to resolve the issue. I will accept returns for damage or size errors, and any other returns at my discretion. If I do not hear from you within the two week return period, I will assume you are happy with your purchase and I will leave feedback for you at that time.

I cannot refund shipping and handling costs. Yarn/materials deposits for custom orders are also not refundable.
Additional policies and FAQs
I prefer custom orders to be made through alchemy, as this protects your custom item from being purchased by someone else, and keeps the item's price private.

My patterns are not currently for sale, since they are impromptu and not written down. Send me a convo if you would like to be notified when my pattern shop opens.

I do not take wholesale orders at this time.
