About

Creativity and Beauty in the Unexpected

While studying art at Appalachian State University, I became obsessed with DIY and craft culture. I was a full-time student working 30 hours a week in a dining hall, scrubbing dishes, just to scrounge up enough money to pay rent and buy all the art supplies I needed for class. Needless to say, I did not have a lot of extra money to spend on beautiful, superfluous things.

I craved beautiful and eccentric objects, but could not afford the wonderful things I saw on fashion blogs or in magazines. I decided to start making my own pieces. It started with a pair of earrings, that led to sewing my first dress, which led to the collection and alteration of vintage garments. Over time, I realized I had built up quite an eccentric, yet lovely, collection.

After awhile, strangers started asking me where I purchased such lovely regalia, always with a look of shock on their face when I disclosed its true origins: "Thank you! I made it."

I decided to start selling my creations, sharing them with others. At an antiques store located downtown from my apartment, I found and old poetry book with an entry about a joyous woman with eccentric flair and elegant garb. She was called the "Lavender Lady." She became the inspiration behind the entire collection.

I have the soul of an artist and the heart of a crafter. I can never stop creating. I can never stop appreciating beauty.

Hello, and welcome to Our Lavender Lady. I want to make the buying and selling process as simple as possible for you. My goal is to bring you exceptional handmade and vintage products that are one of a kind and unique.

The handmade items are truly one of a kind, no two look exactly alike since they are made individually by hand. There may be some imperfections and variations to these handmade products and your item may vary slightly from the one pictured on the product page.

The vintage items generally have light wear due to age and use. If there are any prominent problems with a particular piece, I will note it in the product description. When buying vintage, you understand that this item is not "new" and may have slight imperfections.

PLEASE READ PRODUCT DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASE!

PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE PURCHASE!

Buyer must contact me about any problem BEFORE leaving negative feedback.

Again, orders will not be shipped until full payment is received.

*** INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ***

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING FEES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! Shipping internationally is more expensive than domestic shipping and it is sometimes difficult to calculate the cost depending on the destination. In the event that the original shipping charge does not cover the cost of shipment, Our Lavender Lady reserves the right to request additional payment to cover the cost of shipping. If this occurs, you will also be given the option for a full refund and our sincere apologies.

Refunds and Exchanges
Handmade items can be exchanged or returned within 7 days of delivery as long as they have not been used or worn. Items must be postmarked within those 7 days. Items must be returned to the shop in order to receive a refund. If the item is damaged in any way a refund will not be given. The buyer is responsible for the shipping fees for returned or exchanged items. If an item is returned, the cost of the item will be refunded but NOT the shipping fees.

No returns on vintage clothing. If you have a sizing question or any other question contact me BEFORE purchase.

Please contact me to resolve an issue before leaving negative feedback. I want to work with you to fix the situation. However, even when a problem is resolved or a refund is given, that negative feedback does not go away and has a great negative impact on a small business such as this.
