Eating is Believing!

Here I want to share a few verbatim comments received from people who have tried some of the recipes in Our World at Your Table:

"I made the Pastel de Choclo and we all enjoyed that. I did use all chicken instead of chicken and beef (I have a thing about mixing my meats...). Jackson liked it, but she had to separate out all the ingredients and eat them separately (she has a thing about mixing her foods together - no idea where she gets that from). The only problem I had was that the corn mixture never got thick, so I'm not sure what I did or didn't do. But it didn't seem to affect the end result. Next time I think I'll try all beef.

Next recipe was the Avocado Wedges. I LOVE THESE. Super yummy, super easy. I will make this a LOT!

And I also made the Maple Sugar Pie. After the first bite, my 5-year-old daughter said 'yummmm' and devoured her slice. So thumbs up from her! This actually reminded me, oddly enough, of Thanksgivings when I was growing up. We'd always go to my grandparents house for the weekend, and my grandma would always make pecan pie. I didn't like, and wouldn't eat, pecans, but I loved pecan pie filling, minus the pecans of course (I would always pick them out, and gracious as she was, she never complained about my odd behavior). This Maple Sugar Pie reminded me of the the yummy filling, so definitely another keeper.

I'll need to find some of the more specialty ingredients on some of the recipes, but hope to do that soon. It's actually good to have a goal of something to cook and try. Especially as a "non-cook" type person...
