About

Too much in the world to stick to one thing!

My Etsy store "Ovenfried Beads" opened on Etsy way back in 2006 when Etsy was very new and much smaller. Polymer clay was my main medium of choice, though I collected fabric from all over the world and did some sewing and jewelry design. For a short time I had a shop on Etsy called "Ovenfried Buttons" because my button business was so strong and I thought it deserved it's own spot on the interweb. That got complicated.. having 2 stores on Etsy at the same time. So I lumped it all back into Ovenfried Beads.

When I started backing off of polymer clay (19 years worth) I found that Ovenfried Beads was a concept that didn't apply to my non-polymer clay related work. I was listing more work that had nothing to do with polymer clay or beads. The name AmyEclectic had been swimming around in my head for a little while, so I decided to change my Etsy store name to reflect the new direction I am taking as a store. The snail logo you see was my own design and has been a tattoo on my left arm for longer than it has been my business logo. (I have a thing for snails....lots of symbolism for me personally and for my work, which sometimes takes many months to complete.)

Some experts advise artists to find one medium they like and stick with it. Make that one thing THE thing that people know about the artist, keep doing it over and over, and they will find success. Not so with me. I find that one medium simply cannot satisfy. I can't achieve with polymer clay what only bead embroidery will create. I can't make in fabric what only yarn can make. I LOVE to do lots of different things and I'm sticking with that instead!

SALES:
Sometimes I offer exclusive discounts with a coupon code and expiration date. They are always clearly posted in my shop name and announcement. It is the responsibility of the buyer to check out my main page to see if I am running a special. If a buyer finds out after buying an item at full price that there was a special, I will not refund the difference after the fact and the sale is still final.
Shipping
Shipping is free in the US only, unless customer wants to expedite or add insurance.

If you live outside the USA and would like to purchase any items, please send me a private message so I can calculate your postage and set up a reserved listing for you. International customers are responsible for any/all customs fees associated with purchasing my work. If you don't know what your country charges, please research ahead of time. Once your package leaves the US, it is out of the hands of the USPS and packages cannot be tracked from my end without considerable added expense. I have not had any international packages get lost yet, but I just want buyers to be aware that I won't refund your money because of a long delay in delivery or lost packages overseas.

I am an avid re-user of packing materials.

Lost or damaged packages must be reported to the USPS, as all sales are final. My high-end work will come with insurance, but lower priced ones do not. If you are concerned about the safety or treatment of your package, please ask me to add insurance to postage and I will create a reserved listing for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
All sales are final unless an item has been damaged in shipping. See my shipping policy for more info. The money I make here goes directly to real-life expenses like food, gas, etc.
Additional policies and FAQs
Purchasing my work does not entitle buyers to publish, copy, reproduce or otherwise market my work as their own. My work is copyrighted. Copying is bad karma!
