About OverheadStation
Decidedly different, definitely unique; when it has to be special, it has to be Overhead Station!
Overhead Station was started by Betsy Rock in 1977 at a time and in a city where women didn't borrow money or own businesses. She saw a need for Rock Hill to have its own gift shop and bridal registry even though it was so close to the big department stores of Charlotte, NC. With the encouragement of her husband, she went to her banker and asked for a loan.
The original location was in an old Pure Oil service station that at one time had been owned by a family member. It was at the "overhead bridge" where trains would pass under...hence the name Overhead Station! The artwork in the logo is a gas pump and the handle on the hose is the "S" in Station. It was affordable enough by those day's standards and Betsy became the owner of Rock Hill's first gift shop, and a female owned one at that! She was a real entrepreneur!
In 1999 the store was re-located to the redeveloping Downtown district right on Main Street in the very heart of the city where it remains today.
Many generations have enjoyed invitations and gifts from Overhead Station. In 2017 Betsy decided to retire and sold the business to us, Tami and Terry Windell. We've kept Betsy's concept of creating and printing invitations for all occasions on site in the same building. We commonly find ourselves printing baby shower invitations for the grandchildren of some of Betsy's original customers. And now we want to bring those same invitation services and traditions to you!

Tami and Terry fell in love in Jr High and promised never to be apart...until Tami's family moved away. Decades later, Tami got a Facebook message from Terry and the rest is history. Now Tami is back in Rock Hill and lovin' every minute of life!

Terry provides the tech know-how to put our customers' visions onto invitations for them. He's also a photographer, videographer, and has owned a commercial printing company. Most visuals here and on our website and social media sites came from him.

Spokesdog
The World Famous Bunny Dog, or simply Bunny to her friends, is the Overhead Station Spokesdog. She'll often pick a cool spot on our vintage tile floors and pretend to nap...while in reality keeping a sharp eye on everything in case she's needed.

Frequently asked questions
Digital Proofing
Overhead Station custom prints and ships your order within 3 to 5 business days (Monday – Friday) after we receive your approval of the digital proof we will email to you.
Proofing - If you are satisfied that your proof is correct and you’re ready for us to print your order, please use the wording “OK to print per proof” in your reply email. No orders will be printed without your final OK. We do not check wording for spelling, grammar, or etiquette so please double check your text - especially names. If you are unsure about how to word something, please ask us! We’re here to help!
Color Match
Overhead Station has taken every care to provide you with an accurate example of your order, but all computers and monitors can display colors differently. If you feel you need to see the exact color of an item, please ask to purchase a sample. All samples are $10.00 and shipped USPS. Utilizing this service will delay printing of your order until we receive your email approval of the sample.
Card Stock Weight
All of our card stock is considered cover stock and is approximately 80#. Again, if you need a sample, we will gladly ship you one for $10.00.
Card Stock Finish
Most of our cards have a smooth texture. However, some do have a textured finish. If a card has a textured finish, it will be noted in the description of that item.
Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled prior to your final approval. Refunds on orders in process, but not printed, are issued less a $30 proof charge.
Shipping Method
Shipping Method - All products are shipped via USPS free of additional charge. If you need another delivery method, we will gladly make those arrangements at your expense.
Tracking and Insurance
We ship Priority USPS using their standard packaging. Tracking and insurance up to $50 is provided. If you want additional insurance, we can make those arrangements for you at your expense. Just let us know.
Damage in Transit
We pack all of our items carefully and securely for shipment. If your items arrive damaged in shipping it is your responsibility to file a claim with the carrier.
Missing in Shipment
All products are shipped via USPS unless otherwise requested. If your shipment goes missing, you will need to file a claim with the carrier. We will gladly reprint your order, at your original cost, and expedite production and shipping from our end. Please allow at least one week for carrier to process your claim. Your order may have simply been delayed due to an increase in the carrier's volume.
