Totally adorable, unique doll! My baby niece loves it!
Retirement opened up new joys for me, one of them is Sewing!
I was a bit unnerved when I was getting ready to retire. After working my entire life I was concerned I wouldn't have enough to "do" with my time. The first couple months were the toughest but I then started to fall into an old love, sewing. It started when my 2 daughter in laws asked me to make some soft toys for the babies. The girls were very concerned when all the recalls on toys started to get worse. So, I started making soft, safe toys that were washable for the grandbabies.
They got all the "proto-types" and were happy to add their suggestions (which I was thrilled to get). The girls had a couple of their friends approach me to make some for their own babies. The toys were a hit and ByNanasHands was born!
I learned to sew at about age 8 at the side of my grandmother, Sophia. She had an old Singer treadle sewing machine that you worked with your feet, that was tough to do for an 8 year old that had trouble reaching the floor! I was able to sit with one cheek on a shorter stool and work the treadle with 1 foot! I had to of had the greatest wardrobe for my Barbie doll around. I made her clothes out of scraps that Grandma had around the farm from old clothes and even feed sacks. It instantly became a joy of mine and I went on to take lessons through 4-H Club....then marriage, children and a full time job came along and the machine was put away for many years.
Today a "good" day is any day I can sew! I love creating something special for customers and have a computer filled with wonderful pictures of babies that have received my toys that their Mom's have sent me!
I am registered with the CPSIA and create my toys according to all government regulations for the construction of children's items. Selling children's items is more than just making something and putting it out there, safety is VERY important. I don't sell anything that my own Grandkids couldn't play with. In fact, all of my toys have been "tested" by at least 1 of my 12 grandkids!
My husband and I, along with our 4 legged fur pup, live on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. It's beautiful here and my sewing room overlooks the lake. It's my "happy place" and I'm glad I was able to share a small part of it and my life with you. And when I'm not sewing you'll find me in one of my many gardens. I grow all our own veggies each year and have many pretty flower beds all through the yard. I love to read, fish and swim with our pup. My husband and I are also members of our local Lions Club and work in our community volunteering often. Thanks for stopping by!
ByNanasHands stuffed toys are crafted with babies safety first and foremost. There are no removable parts, all decoration is machine embroidered and there are no hard parts on any of my toys, no plastics and no paints. You can feel good about giving these to your baby or to give as gifts.
Due to the high shipping charges for International orders I DO NOT ship international. I am very sorry for this.
I'm newly "retired" and have waited many years to be able to do what I love to do most, sew and create unique items for your little ones....and a few for Mom too!
Thank you for stopping in and looking around, I hope you find something you just can't live without!

*If your a NEW Etsy buyer, welcome! If you find your having difficulty click this link and it will walk you through the Esty Payment process:
If after reading the above process, and your still having trouble, please send me a convo, I'll be glad to help you.
*If you are requesting a special order item, I will ask for a down payment of 50% if the item is to be monogrammed with a specific name or birth date. If it is just a "themed" item, I will not ask for a deposit.
*If you request an item that requires a deposit, and then choose not to get it, your deposit will NOT be returned as I have expended time and materials that I cannot recover from a custom monogrammed item. I believe that this is only fair to me.
*If you need to cancel a sale, and it is NOT a custom monogrammed order, you have 24 hours to do so as I ship promptly, next days mail. If you cancel the sale after the 24 hours, and the item has already been shipped, I will not refund until the item has been returned to me...YOU will be responsible for paying the return postage.
I feel these policies are fair to both of us. If you have a problem, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I live very rural...our local Post Office is not open late on Saturdays. If you order late on Friday's, after 12 noon, or on Saturday it will not ship until Monday.
Refunds and Exchanges
After 14 days no refunds will be given I feel this is plenty of time to remedy an issue.
If it is a custom order and I cannot resell the item due to monogramming there are NO REFUNDS. If it is a custom order that I CAN resell I will gladly work with you until your satisfied or refund 100%.....I will also refund your shipping for the original shipping charge but NOT the shipping for you to return it if you don't find you want the item.
