INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you purchase from PaintedbyCarol on Etsy, you supply our shop, via Etsy, with the information necessary to complete an order. This information remains on Etsy as a record of your purchase, your online receipt, and any communications (convos) between yourself and us, which stays on Etsy.

I do not ever see your credit card or PayPal data - Etsy handles the financial transactions.

Therefore, the data that I am privy to, via Etsy, are

*the name you use on your Etsy account
*the name and address to whom we ship your purchase
*what you purchased
*If you have purchased from us in the past
*items and shops you have indicated that you like by clicking on a heart on each
*Any feedback you leave about a purchase
**When we send you a message through the Etsy message (convo) system, Etsy will notify you of it by email.

If you purchase a custom photo item and are a guest (not a member) of Etsy, I will contact you through the email address you provided to Etsy, so you may send me the photo(s) you would like me to use. I will send a second email requesting your approval of the piece before it is shipped. Your photos are used to create the custom piece and nothing else.

We purchase and print our postage labels through Etsy.
We routinely ship via the USPS, which scans your address label to route and track your package.

HOW WE USE IT

We use the information with which you supply us to complete your order, and to comply with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

So that we might know if we need to improve our service~ We would much prefer that you allow us to work with you until you are happy with your order, but the choice is yours.

How LONG WE KEEP IT

After shipping, we at PaintedbyCarol do not retain any of your records, but we can still see the records you have shared with Etsy.

If you would like for us to delete Etsy conversations, and any information that you have shared with us in them, we would gladly do so. This will delete them from being visible to us. I do not know if they are still visible to Etsy, since such records could be used in to clarify a dispute that could arise, and it would thus benefit Etsy to retain them all.

SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

Etsy and we share your information while we are preparing an order for you, and after the order has been shipped, Etsy alone retains those records, although we can see your information as it pertains to a sale from our shop, and we can see the information you shared with us, if in fact, you did share any with us.

We do not share your information with anyone other than Etsy and the company through whom we ship (which is nearly exclusively the USPS).

Should a government request, a legal obligation, a legal claim (like a tax law), or a court obligation require us to disclose any of your private information, we would do so only with the utmost caution.
