Hi there! Thanks for stopping by to check out my store policy. Please send me a message if you have any questions that aren't answered below.

Please communicate with me via Etsy only. My email inboxes tend to get cluttered with spam and such & it is very easy for me to miss a message from you. If you plan to give me special instructions, please do so here within Etsy: Do not use Paypal to communicate with me either or leave special instructions regarding your order. I don't use Paypal for anything other than to receive payment. I print my shipping labels & postage with my own software, so I do not log into paypal for postage or invoicing.

Returns and exchanges
It is my neverending mission to create sturdy jewelery that will wear well and last over time. I accept exchanges within 10 days from purchase and refunds within 3 days, under limited circumstances. I realize each circumstance is different and will deal with those cases individually. Please contact me if you have any questions about the return policy, or if you'd like to return an item.

If you'd like to cancel an order for a refund, please do so within 48 hours from purchase. Refunds can take up to 15 days to receive.

Since rings are essentially custom made to fit you, I will not accept returns or outright exchanges since there is a good chance I won't be able to re-sell your ring if that particular size is not ordered by another customer. If you would like to exchange your ring for a different size, there will be a 50% restocking fee for materials and time spent to create the new piece. For this reason, please be sure that you know your ring size at the time of your order. I do make 1/4 sizes, so if you are a little unsure of your size, a quarter size larger or smaller may give you a little leeway.
All payments must be made through Paypal unless you prefer to send a check, in which case, you would just need to send me a message tellling me you'd like to pay by check. Your item will ship once your check clears.

All Florida Residents are charged sales tax.

If you commit to buying an item, you have 3 days to make a payment through Paypal. If I have not received a payment within 3 days, I will relist the item and it will be availabe for purchase again.
All items are shipped First Class via USPS. If you'd like to upgrade your shipping or purchase insurance, please contact me with your zip code and shipping preferences and I will let you know your shipping costs.

Each item is shipped with care in a beautiful gift box. If it will be a gift and you need me to include a message or exclude the receipt, please let me know ahead of time.

PLEASE NOTE: The shop announcement (at top, on the home page of my store) will always override the message below. It contains up-to-date information concerning turnaround time.

Jewelry in this store can take up to 3 weeks to be made and shipped, then add to that the time it takes to ship to you. International Orders may take much longer to reach you, due to customs and travel time.

I don't like that orders take a long time, but there is nothing I can do about this. All of my pieces are made to order and there is a lot more to running this business than just making orders - unless you run a small business you may not ever understand exactly how much needs to be done. My time is split up between making orders, maintaining the rest of my business, working a part-time job, and maintaining a home life as well - I am human and I do need to clean, cook, do laundry, grocery shop, & pay bills. ; ) Many of you are very understanding, but I get a few customers who repeatedly asks where their order is 1 week into it (even after reading my full disclosure on the turnaround time). It is time consuming for me to find your order and try to guesstimate how much time it will take to make each order before yours, and then guess how many days it will take for shipping once it leaves my hands. This is keeping me from my work. If you do not think you can wait for your item, then please, with all due respect, do not order from this store.

This is my passion, I am doing what I love and I hope it shows in my work. This store is my priority (aside from my loved ones) and a job that I take extremely seriously. I am a one woman show and your jewelry is handmade. It is a long process from beginning to end. All of my metal work is made from scratch (sheet metal and wire). I rarely, if ever, use pre-fabricated shapes as a starting point. After your piece is made, it takes just as long to strengthen, clean, and polish; then onto packaging, which is a job in itself and I could really use another body, but I don't have one (my significant other has his own home business & could even use my help) : ) Sometimes, an entire day can be spent weighing packages, preparing & printing labels, making the gift box pretty, and driving to the post office. Turnaround time will always vary, depending on how many orders I have in progress, but be assured, I work diligently to get each and every order out in a timely manner without compromising the quality of your jewelry.

Please be sure your shipping address associated with Etsy is accurate because I ship to the address you provide to Etsy and not Paypal. I don't have time to compare addresses between your Paypal and Etsy account & find out which is right. You will receive an email from me with tracking info at the time your order ships. This will enable you to see that the package did indeed leave my hands and you will be able to follow it as it makes it's way to you, therefore I will not be held responsible for lost packages (due to wrong address given) or stolen packages. If for some reason the package doesn't make it to you and I can see via tracking that your package didn't make its destination, I will remake the item for you.

Painted Metal is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. All packages ship with USPS delivery confirmation (except International destinations), which allows me and you to verify exactly when your local postal carrier delivered your package to your address. If you'd feel more comfortable insuring your package, please contact me before purchasing, and I will add the insurance to your shipping costs.

I make every effort to safely secure and ship all packages, but sometimes merchandise can be damaged during the shipping process. Merchandise damaged during shipping should be reported within 24 hours of receipt. You will be reimbursed the amount it costs to ship the package back and a new product will be made and shipped again to you.
