I may still be staring at this for extended periods of time in fascination and appreciation every day for the rest of my life. I absolutely love this painting and it is incredible to see it in person. I can't thank you enough!

Making a living from Paintings and Sculpture

Making art has preoccupied life for me from my earliest memories. Each piece is an exploration. Most of the time I have no concept of exactly what will appear on the canvas, in the stone, in the clay, etc. It's a thought. It's an evolution. It's a dialogue. It's a journey. It's an expression. It's a joy. I could go on and on but that pretty much describes the experience. It's neither common nor uncommon.

Thank you for taking the time to view the works. I mean that. With all of the images and information available on the miracle of the internet, your taking part of your day to look at this shop is appreciated. I sincerely hope you enjoy that time.

My philosophy about Art is: If you have to know the theory to appreciate the piece, it isn't art. While knowing the theory can increase your understanding and therefore make the piece have a greater impact, initially, it isn't necessary. Art is like love, you know it when it happens. I know it isn't popular or accepted to say such a thing in this day and age: an age where everything can be deemed art. But I'm saying it. Art is intuitive. It speaks directly to you. Even "bad" art. Art doesn't need someone's argument - it doesn't need cheerleaders. Don't fret about being "correct" in your assessments. Just be honest. THEN, be informed.

Thank you for your time and possibly for appreciating my works. Each of my paintings has gestated for whatever period necessary to bring out all of it's potential. Each piece feels complete.
