Definitely seems like a good value for a starter kit in this craft. It came very quickly and I'm excited to try it out!

Marbling is the 17th Century art of floating paint on a thickened water surface. -

The paint spreads out like lily pads. A second color will push the first colors around. -

Combs or rakes draw and move the paint around to create the patterns. -

The paper or fabric is lifted off carefully and laid out to dry. -

The paper or fabric is lightly placed on the paint and gel surface which transfers to the dry surface.
Crafting modern clothing accessories with historic marbling paint patterns!!
I learned how to marble after taking a short workshop. At this time, I was running an art center on Hilton Head Island, SC. I discovered that tourists and residents loved learning something new and creating special garments on their vacation. The process is a fun success oriented activity for all ages and it is very relaxing. My son encouraged me to marble bow ties after his dad and I created a special, one-of-a-kind bow tie gift for him one Christmas. So in 2013, I began full time marbling bowties and neckties! Next came scarves in the spring of 2015. Baby garments also came into my store.
I love working with the colors and creating the patterns. Mixing colors to match Pantone colors of the seasons is my newest venture! These colors enhance the historic marbling patterns on the clothing!
In March, 2018, I am opened a teaching studio to teach marbling in Asheville, NC. Participants will create patterns and then choose one for a silk scarf, cotton bandanna, or fabric of their very own. It will be a personal souvenir of their visit in Asheville.
