Welcome to Palominoblue Buttons!
Buttons, Buttons, Buttons!
Handmade buttons for all purposes...
What wonderful little things they are!
Making buttons is one of my passions, and inspiration comes from just about everywhere....please enjoy these little gems.
I make all of my buttons by hand and fire them in one of three ways. My specialties are wood, gas, and Raku firings. Each type of firing has its own special effects that make every button an individual little piece of art.
Please check out my stock and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

About palominoblue
Buttons from the Beginning
When you look back on my life it makes perfect sense that I should make pottery buttons. This endeavor came about relatively recently, in the last few years that is. A friend kept suggesting that I make clay buttons, I make many others things as well, but at that time I hadn't even considered buttons. I had to think about it for a while, but it made sense and I even wondered why I hadn't thought of it myself. The biggest reason for my surprise at not having thought about it was that as a child one of my favorite things to do was go through my mother's button tin. Things haven't changed much, as I still love rummaging through buttons.
So, after a bit of strategizing, I took the plunge. I discovered that I love making buttons! The process is a little tedious at times as there are many steps from beginning to finished product, but the ideas for them are endless, and there are no limits to the creativity.
From there to my shop on Etsy didn't take too long. Another friend suggested the site to me and with a bit more strategizing I set up shop. So here I am, Palominoblue Buttons on Etsy.

I live in the foothills of California where my husband and I run a small pottery and farm. We have apple, peach, and pear orchards and a small vineyard. Our beehives now number six, we have a small flock of chickes, and a very nice mustang horse.
