This is an absolutely stunning mug! Simple elegant lines and so beautifully made. A pleasure to look at and to use. The details are so thoughtful! The side walls are thin, which makes it feel good to drink from, and the thick bottom keeps my tea hot! I will be buying more!
Pure and simple hand built pottery for your cozy, comfortable home.
I am a studio potter working from my home studio in San Antonio, Texas.
I am inspired by the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country near where I live and appreciate the concept of "slow living" with a focus on appreciating the present moment and embracing simplicity in our daily lives.
My process is based on soft slab construction which lends itself to a lovely, organic simplicity of form. My surfaces have a depth and rustic warmth created by the use of a chocolate brown stoneware which is then dipped in a white “crackle” slip and glazed with a softly-colored celadon-style glaze.
My passion for ceramics began over 30 years ago when I took my first ceramics class at The University of Texas at Austin. But it wasn't until my children were grown and off to college, that I truly dedicated myself to ceramics in 2014. To hone my craft, I resumed my studies at the Southwest School of Art and at workshops with some of today’s most well-respected potters across the United States and Canada. After retiring in 2019 from a 26-year career with USAA, I am now dedicated fulltime to my practice as a studio potter and am currently honored to serve as President of the San Antonio Potters Guild.
Each day as I enter my studio, it is a joy for me to create simple, straightforward functional pottery designed for your everyday use. I take pride in making my work slowly – taking the time to ensure that each piece is well-crafted and designed with care. It is my hope that one of my pieces will find its way into your home for you to enjoy for many years to come.
