PaniEva's silly old greyhounds - whimsical greyhound art to enjoy and promote greyhound rescue

Welcome to the world of silly old greyhounds! Pani, my first greyhound adopted in August of 2003, not only introduced me to this special breed but also woke up inner crafter and artist in me. I guess Eva the Artist must have been there all along, she just needed a muse. Pani quickly became my muse, inspiration and teacher.

One thing led to another - from just a greyhound adopter to volunteer to foster mom. From couple cards for friends to artwork, signs and cards donated to raffles and auctions raising funds for greyhound rescue. It eventually led me to Etsy and I opened PaniEva right after Christmas of 2010.
I also joined Handmade4Hounds team here on Etsy and donate my items to the team shop, raising funds for various sighthound groups.

Pani and foster greys - and since Christmas of 2012 new family member Becca - are behind my colorful, whimsical and goofy greyhound art. Their photos are always included in my listings. I create all my work in my smoke-free AND greyhound friendly home studio. You can often see one or both of the girls snoozing by my desk.
All of my cards and gift tags have original artwork, never prints, and are truly hand-made. I cut, tear, paint and put together each piece individually the old fashioned way by hand - so no two pieces ever look the same.

Even though my life and work revolves around greyhounds, I also enjoy creating "people" cards with simple designs. I create styles and designs I can send to my family and friends, not because they are trendy. The arrival of "Baby Brigade" in the past few years - little nephews, nieces and couple of (gasp!) great nephews and nieces (OK, let's say that my brother and sister are MUCH older) inspires me to create fun kid designs.

I support and donate my work to auctions and raffles raising funds for greyhound groups and groups rescuing greyhounds' Spanish cousins - galgos and podencos. I also donate my time as an active volunteer for GREAT (Greyhound Rescue and Adoptions of Tampa Bay), often working with potential and new adopters. It is a joy and an honor to be part of greyhound - and sighthound - community.

In October of 2014 I had to say good-bye to Pani. Old age took its tall on her body. She crossed to the Rainbow Bridge peacefully, always a lady, till the very end... Becca made crazy international move with me from US to UK. Now it is her job to grace my life with love, beauty, joy of life and, yes, occasional mischief :)

There are many more treasures like these two, just waiting to be discovered. All you have to do is to contact your local greyhound rescue group.

Since coming into my life in 2003 Pani has been my inspiration, teacher and zen master. She continues her role - just from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, after leaving us in October 2014 at the age of 13 years and 10 months.
