About

Pansyp (Little Loft Studio) has been making things since she was a wee bean. Since moving to Rye this year, Pansyp has more time to devote to making.

I have always been drawn to clay, ever since I was little, when I remember making tiny plasticine fairies which I hung from a strand of my hair to make them appear to be flying. In primary school, I was obsessed with horses and would make riders and tack to go with my Britains horses. Plasticine fuelled my imagination and gave me a means to create my fantasies, whether they were of running a stables or of recreating favourite characters from books and films.
When I discovered fimo, I could give my creations more permanence, and set about making film characters: Rats of Nimh, Aliens, Star Trek: I recreated them all in clay. I had a hobby that I dipped into when I felt the creative urge, something which came and went over the years as life took me in strange directions.
It is only recently that I have had the time to dedicate to making in clay, discovering the fun of papier mache and it is a learning curve... My enthusiasm sends me off on many different paths, as I experiment or fulfil an urge to create something specific. There still isn't the time to make everything I want to and I lie awake thinking of projects, my mind racing for hours.
As I develop my art, I am continuing the creative journey I began as a little child and I hope I can share my creations with you as I travel.
