Hi, I’m Abigail, owner and creative director of Paper & Cake. After planning, and decorating my daughter’s first birthday (in 2003), I realized what the world was missing... originally designed, adorably themed, handmade partyware.
Since our launch in 2008, all of our party kits have been designed, by me, to give buyers something unique and special that they too can put their own creative stamp on. I create my own illustrations - rather than use clip-art or existing characters - for each and every theme. Color schemes and typography are then carefully chosen as an integral part to the overall look. In addition, you can also find styling tips, party activities, and craft project ideas on our blog, paperandcake.com/blog.
Our printable party PDF kits can be downloaded on the spot and personalized by the customer using a free software. Specifically constructed to be quick and easy to put together, every "printable" item is formatted to print on white 8.5 x 11” card stock, and can be assembled using nothing more than scissors and tape. We aim to offer our printable party kits at a price that makes them accessible to every one. Starting at $12.95, each kit includes 10-15 items, such as; invitation, pennant banner, favor box, party food labels and cupcake toppers.
Ever evolving to stay relevant and exciting, Paper & Cake commenced a retail branch of the company, giving clientele the option to buy ready-made party materials. Our printed and packaged goods are produced in-house, using every local resource possible. We are currently adding retailers interested in carrying our products. Typically, orders are processed in no more than 4 business days, with an additional shipping time of no more than 5 business days. How do your printable party kits work?

Do I need an expensive printer for these printable party kits?
Absolutely not. We’ve used an inexpensive HP inkjet for several of our photo shoots – and a color laser jet for others. Can you spot the difference?
What kind of paper should I print on?
We recommend plain white card stock (any weight will do), but you can also use satin-finish photo paper for a slightly glossy finish. Card stock is available at most office supply stores, we’ve even found it at Target.
Can I change the colors of the PDF?
Unfortunately, Adobe Acrobat is just not developed enough to make color changes.
Can you create a custom design for me?
Our custom calendar is usually pretty full. But it doesn't hurt to ask!
To design a new themed printable set:
• it can NOT include any licensed, copyrighted, trademarked images
• it can include 6 different items of your choice (ie. invitation, banner, cupcake picks etc)
• it must be items that we currently offer
• it will have customizable fields that you fill in yourself

Why don't you offer party kits that are "Frozen" or "Star Wars" themed?
For a couple of reasons.... First, selling works that are copyrighted, is against the law. But more importantly, I love designing original graphics for you! I LOVE creating birthday parties for my customers to put their creative spin on. I work hard in designing the banner, the invitation, the coloring pages and more, and offering a product that is affordable and original and made with love. And as much as my kids (and probably your kids too) have loved “Nemo” and “Toy Story” and “Cinderella”, recreating those characters is not what I do, it’s not my mission, it’s not my vision.
