Expanding the Sunshine

I opened my Etsy shop to share my handmade cards and creations with more than just my family and friends. I have always enjoyed sending and receiving cards in the mail, even on a gloomy day it feels like someone has sent me a little bit of sunshine to brighten my day!
My cards are a way for me to express my love to others. I'm not always eloquent with words, so I use paper and ink to express how I feel or to let someone know I'm thinking of them.
I create in my soft, butter-yellow craft room surrounded by light and inspired by events, people and creative ideas from the world around me.
I reside in southern Ontario, Canada with my incredibly supportive husband. I'm bless to live in an area with changing seasons and where adventure awaits just outside my door.

Welcome to Paper & Sunshine! Thank you for visiting my shop where you will find my collection of handcrafted cards, signs and home decor. I have always been creative and love working with paper, ink, wood and paint. Any of my designs can be customized and my cards can be used for any occasion, invitations, and even scrapbook pieces. The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
I want you to love your purchase and feel good about giving it as a gift. If for some reason your purchase is damaged in shipping, please let me know so that I can make amends. Photos required of damaged product and packaging.

At this time, I do not accept returns or exchanges on custom orders do to the labour intensive nature of the work. However, if there is ever a problem with your order (customized or not), please email me at paperandsunshine [!at] within 3 days of delivery, and I will try to accommodate you.
Payments are accepted through Etsy Direct Checkout. Payments must be made in full at the time of checkout. Your order will ship only after payment has cleared.

If you wish to cancel your order, please do so within 6 hours of checking out. Once your order has shipped, cancellations will not be accepted. For customized orders, cancellations can only be made before the work has begun on your request. Please message me if you would like to cancel your order. I will let you know whether or not I can accept the request depending on the item(s) purchased and whether they are in process.
I ship through Canada Post. I use the least expensive shipping rates possible while still making sure your purchase gets to you in perfect condition. Each card is packaged in a cellophane sleeve and mailed in a padded bubble mailer; each sign is packaged in bubble wrap and brown paper.

If you would like me to use a priority shipping option, please contact me before you purchase your order so I can adjust your shipping costs and work with you to select the shipping option you would like.

Non-customized orders are ready to ship in 1 to 3 business days. Add this time to the estimated transit time by Canada Post to have an idea of when you will receive your purchase.

I am not able to give you an exact delivery date nor can I promise that your package will arrive by a certain day, as there are no guarantees made by the postal service. Keeping this in mind, the 'common' transit times are listed by Canada Post as:
• Domestic orders: 2 to 9 days
• USA orders: 4 to 8 days
• Other International orders: 4 to 10 days

If you would like me to send your purchase direct to a recipient, please contact me before placing your order. I will work with you to put a custom message on the inside of any card before mailing the card on your behalf.

Custom designs will receive an email with a final product photo before mailing. Once you have confirmed your final design, please allow 7 to 10 business days for your order to be ready to ship. Add this time to the estimated transit time by Canada Post to have an idea of when you will receive your purchase.

I (the Seller) am not responsible for lost packages or delays by Canada Post, Incorrect Addresses, Forwarding Addresses, or Seasonal/Weather Delays.

International Shipping is available. Any Duty/Customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Additional Customs charges, fees or taxes may be due when you receive your package. These charges are your responsibility and are decided by the country of your residence. These charges are NOT included in the price of shipping. No refunds will be given to cover these charges. The shipping charges you paid at the time of your purchase are those charged to me by Canada Post, not your country of residence. Often international deliveries are held at the local post office for pickup. Please be sure to check your local post office if you are waiting on your order.

If you are ordering multiple cards, it’s possible that you may be overcharged as there is a shipping cost applied to each listed item. If there’s ever a case where this happens, I will make sure that you are refunded the difference.

Similarly, if you are ordering a sign or multiple signs, it's possible that you may be overcharged as there is a shipping cost applied to each listed item, and although the Canada Post shipping estimate is good, it's not exact. If there's ever a case where this happens, I will make sure that you are refunded the difference.
Additional policies and FAQs
I can create custom orders!
Please visit my shop's main page and click the 'Request Custom Order' tab. You will be directed to a page where you can tell me, in detail, what you are looking for and how you would like your card(s) made. Please kindly specify style, size, color and quantity. Also, please let me know the occasion/event and the date you need the item(s) by. I will review the request and let you know whether your order can be processed. If you would like to proceed in making the purchase, I will create a custom listing for you through Etsy. The price quoted to you will be respective of the cost of materials and labour needed to complete your order, as well as shipping costs to your location.

Please feel free to contact me if you really like a particular card design or sign listed in my shop, but want me to change the colours and/or sentiment. As many of my cards and signs can be personalized, I need to know the exact phrase/age/name/passage for eachitem that is purchased at the time of ordering. There is a notes to buyer section upon check out where this information can be entered.

I will contact you regarding any information that may have been left out via messages on Etsy - PLEASE check these messages to make sure any information that is required to make your item is sent to me in a timely manner.

Failure to provide this information will result in the order being completed using the information that is shown in the photos for the listing, and no refund will be given if this is incorrect. It is the Customers' responsibility to provide ALL the relevant information, so please check what needs to be provided before you buy to avoid disappointment.

Depending on the custom order created, I may make a copy or similar item to offer as another listing.

My handcrafted cards and signs will have some form of my shop identity on it. This will appear on the backsides of the item along with any credit due for using other company’s products. For example, I like to use Stampin’ Up stamps and will include a small stamped credit on the back of any card where I have used one of their stamps.
