About

Inspiration

As an artist/gardener/poet, I find my inspiration in all the wonderful plants, fish and birds that live in my large garden here at Rosepark, my country home in the heartland.

I have found that nature tends to repeat shapes and designs, circles, ovals, stripes, etc... When I create my original folk art nature prints, I use the leaves, fruits and flowers of the plants around me to capture these shapes in birds, fish, and other designs.
I use permanent inks to hand print the designs. I then add some freehand drawing using pen and ink, and sometimes colored pencils or watercolors. I then up load the designs to my computer to paint from 'underneath'. This allows me to paint the designs without losing the wonderful detail of the nature print.

There are many steps in creating my original art, but the end result is colorful, fun folk art that is primitive, but not childish.
I like to think of it as folk art with flare!

Welcome. I hope you have found something you love as much as I loved making it. For me, art is as necessary as breath, and with art prints, art can be affordable.
My original art is hand printed using, and inspired by all the wonderful plants, fish and birds that live in my garden. Other creatures live in my large garden as well, and I hope to soon tell their stories.
