A tree is revealed! Cut from a single sheet of black paper, designs look dramatically different as they're being cut!
Was thrilled to finish this piece without accidentally wrecking its delicate branches before it was safely framed!

I cut holes in paper

I did my first papercut in the first grade as a school valentine. I liked it, so I started trying other pieces from books I was able to find. In college, I started creating my own designs based on ancient Maya and Mimbres artwork, and eventually started making complicated pieces based on architecture and nature. My inspiration comes from my surroundings in rural and urban parts of home state of Maine and adopted home of Boston.

I began selling my work on Etsy in 2007. My work has been shown in galleries and museums across the country, was featured in the Wall Street Journal, and made history as the first pin on Pinterest, chosen by Pinterest founder Ben Silbermann.
