At the Paper Jar, every effort is made to offer quality vintage items for the home and garden...unique items that are not only beautiful but also those that are purposeful and that possess an obvious backstory.
I personally re-purpose pieces in my own home and have been collecting antique English and American craftsman furniture, California pottery, ironstone china, industrial and salvage pieces, as well as vintage garden accessories for decades. I am educated in architectural design and find this background shows up in a lot of my vintage choices.
I am so happy to offer special vintage items that will elevate your everyday! Admire them, love them, display them...and use them! Paper Jar items have soul and history and charm, and are intended to make your home (or any little corner of your world) a bit more beautiful.
New items will be listed weekly and the inventory will be ever-changing. I may seek out thematic pieces for a week or two, and then do a 360 the following week just to keep it fun and fresh for myself and my customers! You never know what might be listed inside the Paper Jar.
Many vintage items will be sold and shipped in "found" condition. I do surface cleaning with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris, however, I leave it up to the new owner of the piece to decide the extent to which the item should be cleaned. I consider the texture and patina found within vintage items to be one of a kind and am cautious about altering any its characteristics.
I also offer repurposed or re-imagined items on occasion, as well as vintage-inspired handmade pieces. These listings will be identified as such.

I prefer Paypal as the primary payment method, but will accept money orders as well. Please note that methods other than Paypal will extend the amount of time it takes the item to reach you! If I do not receive payment within 5 days of point of purchase, I will have to re-list the item. Since these items are usually one-of-a-kind, I appreciate your attention to this issue.

You love love the piece....just what you were looking for....cannot wait to get it, right? I thoroughly understand that feeling and I will make every effort to get the item to you as quickly as possible! Generally, i ship items in the most economical option provided by USPS. Parcel Post is typically the best all-round option and the item takes about a week to arrive on the East Coast.
Items will ship to your Paypal address so please ensure that it is correct and up-to-date.
The Paper Jar is located in California, therefore, shipping costs are estimated for the East Coast. If actual shipping costs exceed the estimate by $1.50, you will be refunded the difference via Paypal.
Most smaller scale items will be shipped within 2 business days of receiving your Paypal payment. Larger items may, on occasion, take longer, however, I will be in contact with you to ensure that the item gets to you in a timely manner.
if you need the item quickly, generally less than one week, please contact me prior to purchase somthat I might find the most economical option for expeditednshipping to your zip code.
PLEASE NOTE: Shipping cost does not include insurance coverage. If you would like insurance, please contact me prior to purchase so I can revise the shipping costs.
I like to use recycled materials for shipping. I shred my newspapers, magazines, etc. Please specify if this will be a gift, then I will package the item accordingly when feasible.
Although I want to ship as eco-friendly as possible, I also want you to receive the item safely, thus I will use various methods (depending on the item's construction) to ensure that occurs.
