This is a beautiful book and shipped very quickly. I plan to give it to my mom for Channukah as a "best part of the week" journal for 2017. We talk about our best parts of the week every Friday evening at dinner, and I'm sure she will love to have a record of these happy memories in such a lovely book. Thanks so much!

About

Handmade journals, sketchbooks, mini books, and charms.

I've always been fascinated by journals and their myriad design possibilities. The stationery and back-to-school sections have always been my favorite areas of stores. But it wasn't until 2013 when a class journal project in a 3D design college course whetted my appetite, and a casual interest finally manifested into a full hobby. Since then, I've been gleefully collecting materials from which to stitch together blank journals each with character of their own. My materials come from many sources, but each journal is ultimately designed and assembled by hand, by me. Each of my projects include various combinations of old, new, reused and upcycled media. Sometimes a particular scrap of leather or sheet of paper will sit for weeks, months, before finally a design emerges. Seeing a journal completed is like meeting a new friend.
Bookbinding is a very rewarding creative outlet for me because it involves so many different decisions that ultimately affect the total personality of the finished product, which in itself is a useful tool and-- dare I say it-- in the end becomes an extension of its owner. As much as I love the process, I can't possibly write enough to fill each and every book I make. So I offer them to you. Every journal is unique, just like people. My hope is that each journal will find their matching person to claim and fill their pages with their thoughts and ideas. To have my handmade creations travel all over the world to places I most likely will never experience is all part of the fun.

I have been doing artsy things practically my entire life, starting at the age of about two with portraits of meatloaf using fingerpaints in my mom's kitchen. Today, I am a graphic design student with a passion for the beautifully functional.
