Unexpected Blessing
The very first pom poms I made were for a display in the showroom of the special events rental shop where I used to work. Brides would come in all the time asking if we sold them to which I would reply, "No, but I'll show you how to make them!" For a few weeks I was holding DIY sessions with bride after bride sharing my secrets to the perfect pom.
After the encouragement of my entrepreneurial minded father, I decided to take the plunge and put them on Etsy. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had a sale my very first day and within 4 months I was able to quit my day job and devote all of my time to creating tissue lovelies in my basement workshop.
Paperwhite Designs is a one woman operation. I handle everything from the production of the pom poms, ordering & inventory, social media marketing, and email correspondence to the printing of the shipping labels and daily post office runs. It often feels like a circus around here, and the floors of my workshop look like Time Square after midnight on New Years Eve, but that's what makes my job the best. I'm surrounded by color and creativity, and there is always something new going on.
I'm constantly inspired by the creativity I see from so many of my clients in the ways they implement my products into their parties and celebrations. I'm so thankful for Etsy and all my wonderful customers for enabling me to support my husband through graduate school all while doing something I love!

Frequently asked questions
Do the poms come fully bloomed?
They come fully assembled, but in need of blooming. It's a very simple process and there are clear instructions included. If they were shipped fully bloomed they unfortunately would get crushed in shipment as they are after all made of tissue paper!
Can I pick my own colors?
Yes! Just make a note in the note to seller section at checkout of the colors you want based on the color chart which is on the last picture in the listing.
What if I need them sooner than the published turnaround time?
Just send me a quick message letting me know your date needed and I'll let you know if I'm able to accommodate, most of the time I'm able to squeeze people in!
