Patrick Lajoie Fine Art Photography

I am a fine art photographer who was born and raised in London, Ontario and studied fine art at OCAD University in Toronto. I am known mostly for my image transfer works on wood panel, which are infused with a warmth in both hue and texture, created by the golden cast of the wood as well as the delicate wood grain apparent beneath paler areas of pigment. With my photography work I aim to explore themes of colour and light as well as the emotions sparked by nostalgia and remembrance.

I live and work just north of Toronto in rural Caledon, Ontario where I share a studio and workshop with my wife and fellow artist. I create all my own works from start to finish, including building the wooden panels and creating the archival prints I use for my image transfer process. My works are held in private and public collections throughout Canada, the US and the UK.

Shop policies

Welcome to Patrick Lajoie Photography. Please be sure to review all my shop policies before making your purchase. I’ve tried to be thorough here but if there’s anything I’ve missed please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, etc.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
If you are not happy with your purchase please let me know within 7 days of receipt of shipment. Any returns must be authorized by me and arrive back to me in original condition. Shipping costs are not refundable and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Custom orders are final sale.
I accept payment through Paypal in US Dollars. Payment for purchases must be made in full before an order is shipped. In the case of e-cheques thru Paypal there will be a delay of several days before I receive payment from Paypal and can ship order.

In Canada: Ontario customers will be charged PST (8%) and GST (5%). New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland customers will be charged HST (13%). Any other province or territory will be charged GST (5%).
All customers with a shipping address outside of Canada will not be charged tax BUT should note that they may be assessed and charged tax and/or duty by the country/state they are having their purchase shipped to. NOTE: The buyer is responsible for any additional fees (taxes/duties) that may be charged at customs, etc. In an attempt to minimize this I do label all packages as ‘Original Art’ on the Customs Form, as in some countries this may either eliminate or reduce the taxes and/or duties your purchase will be assessed. Purchases shipped to the USA or Mexico are exempt of duty (but not necessarily tax) since they are protected under the North American Free Trade Agreement.
I ship mainly with Canada Post and occasionally to the US and Canada with FedEx, depending on the item to be shipped.

I do not require a ‘verified’ address at Paypal and I will ship to the Etsy ‘ship to’ address that you provide (please be sure to also provide a contact phone number to be added to shipping label).

I ship orders in either a sturdy bubble pack envelope, non-bending mailer, mailing tube or a cardboard shipping carton, depending on the item(s) to be shipped. All items are carefully packed to protect them from being damaged in shipping, therefore I cannot take responsibility for damages incurred by the shipping carrier. In the rare event of this occurrence an insurance claim will have to be made with the carrier, which I will initiate but will also require the involvement of the receiver of the goods (the damaged item may have to be inspected by the postal carrier, etc).
