PaupersPalace Shop Policies:

Welcome All:

Thank you for taking the time to review the shop policies of PaupersPalace. If you have any questions regarding our policies, please feel free to contact us via conversation prior to purchasing.

PaupersPalace specializes in handmade and gently used merchandise. As stated in our shop notes, most of the items we sell are Vintage. This means that they most often have been previously used, and in many cases are not perfect due to age. We feel this adds a unique charm and character to our merchandise, which is why we love it. While we are meticulous in searching for any flaws in our merchandise, we may not notice each and every one. However, because we sell our items “as is” we will state any flaws that we notice in the item, to ensure that you are comfortable with your purchase.

Also, we do not claim to be Vintage Experts. We simply describe the merchandise to our best ability, from research, markings, etc. While we feel we accurately describe our items, mistakes can be made. This is why we offer photographs, so that our customers may do additional research on their own, and in turn feel even more comfortable with purchases.

Reserving Merchandise:

PaupersPalace currently accepts Paypal. Payments are due at the time of purchase.

Prior to Shipping:

If you want insurance on shipping added to your order, please send a convo message with the address where you want the item shipped, prior to purchasing. At this time, the item will be reserved for you, to ensure no one else will be able to purchase your item. Then, adjustments will be made to shipping price to fit your insurance needs.

This policy also applies to faster shipping methods. Should you prefer your item be shipped through a faster service, please send a convo prior to purchasing with the address where you want the item shipped. At that time, the item will be reserved for you, and adjustments made to shipping costs to fit your needs.



Each item shipped is packaged with extra care to ensure they are safe for delivery. Although we do reuse packaging supplies, to keep prices low for our customers and for ourselves. We also use local newspapers to secure larger items in place during delivery. In order to do our part to save the environment, we also do not include a receipt in with your order unless requested.

Shipping Cost and Methods:

In order to keep your cost down, we use the least expensive method of delivery on all orders. This means that your merchandise may take 7-10 business days to receive your order once shipped. International orders will take longer, in some cases beyond a month, so please be patient if you are outside of the Continental United States.

*Also, we always purchase a shipping confirmation on all deliveries within the Continental United States. This used to require a signature, but effective 12/15/12, orders placed this date or after will not require a signature upon delivery. However, if you wish for a signature confirmation, please let us know via convo before purchasing, so your shipping rate can be adjusted to your needs.

Shipping Insurance is optional; however we do recommend it for all items shipped within the Continental United States, especially for those purchases $50.00 and over. If you choose not to purchase shipping insurance, we cannot however offer any refunds, returns or exchanges once the item has been shipped.

With any item ordered, whether insurance was purchased or not, any time we quote a shipping charge that totals $3.00 or more over the actual shipping cost, we will refund that money to the purchaser via Paypal. We do not want to make money off of shipping, and we want our customers to pay the minimal amount possible to receive their items.

Items will only be shipped on the Saturday after it was ordered, as the shop owner also holds a full time job. This means if you purchase an item on a Saturday, it will not be shipped until the next Saturday, we hope this is understandable due to post office hours during the work week. Although this is the standard policy, if you need faster service, please see policy above in the "Prior to Shipping" section, and adjustments to fit your needs can be made.

International Orders:

We do not include a shipping fee for international orders, (this includes Canada, Mexico, and all places outside of the Continental United States.) Instead we allow the customer to convo us for rates. At that time, we will get an accurate quote for the price of shipping to your country, and if you would still like to purchase the item, we will add the shipping fee to the listing, so that you only have to make one payment via Paypal.

Unfortunately, we cannot track or insure any international orders. Because of this, we will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged items that are sent out of the Continental United States. We will also not be held responsible for any customs fees, so please be aware of the policies of your country prior to placing an order.

Post-Shipping and Refunds/Exchanges:

Because our items are one of a kind, all sales are final. However, because we want everyone to be happy with their purchase, we do look at each order on an individual basis. If you are unhappy with your merchandise, please let us know via convo, and we will consider the matter further. Please contact us if you are not completely satisfied with your order before leaving feedback on Etsy. We will work with our customers to ensure that your experience is positive. Once we receive positive feedback on the website, we will then return the favor.

If you are merely disappointed with your purchase, and have purchased shipping insurance, we will be happy to refund your money, minus the original shipping and Paypal charges. You must then be responsible for additional shipping fees to return the item, with a signature confirmation upon delivery, as well as insurance. We will not give refunds for items that have been returned if they have been damaged while being delivered. Once we received the items undamaged, we will then refund your Paypal account.

If you wish to exchange your item, and have purchased insurance, the same shipping policies will apply that are mentioned above, and any monies that are owed on behalf of PaupersPalace will be processed through Paypal, after we receive the undamaged merchandise. However, if monies are owed to PaupersPalace, we will require that our Paypal be credited before we send the item you have ordered in exchange for the original one.

Here at PaupersPalace, our main concept is that everyone be able to enjoy our beautiful one of a kind Vintage and Homemade merchandise. Therefore we try to keep our items at a small cost to the customer. We know times are hard financially on everybody, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have regal items to enjoy in your life. We work hard to bring these items to you in the least expensive way, and we hope that you take pleasure in browsing our shop.
