The idea to make a unique dog picture frame came back around 1996. It percolated for quite a while before I was able to act on the idea. I started out at dog shows with about 40 dog frames. That was it. We certainly have a lot more now. The frames took a long time to develop. We went through many different materials until we found what works great for us. We’ve been selling dog picture frames for over 10 years now! Hard to believe…
Then came the handmade jewelry created with Scrabble tiles! We went through trial and error with the jewelry – finding suppliers whose materials we liked, glue that withstands water and wear better than so many others we tried, and on and on. Our Scrabble Bracelets seem to be enjoyed by people. My husband and I, as a team, create our bracelets. We both know with the drilling of the tiles, all the cutting, gluing, stringing, photographing, and all the rest. There is no way that only one of us could do this, as well as make the frames, keep up the household and stay sane. Every day, we are grateful we have each other in this business.
One of our greatest joys is when we get a convo from someone (or review) about how they, or someone special to them, LOVED the item they bought. There has even been several occasions where I actually got teary-eyed. Pretty good to have a business that makes you feel that good.
We also love vintage items – kind of goes with our vintage art in Paws In Time. So, we enjoy buying and selling vintage items when we have time. Unfortunately, it is not as often as we would like. You can visit our Etsy vintage shop at: www.vintageantiquelane.etsy.com
We look forward to continuing our business and coming up with new ideas. I’ve been thinking lately about a couple of new frame ideas that I’m eager to try. And Scrabble bracelets…when do I not think about new bracelets? So, hopefully we’ll be around for years to come.
