5 out of 5 starsI love Ms Ballard's artwork and I follow her on Instagram. When I received an Etsy gift card for Mother's Day I knew how I'd spend it. It's on canvas and prettier than the photo. Easy to order, shipped as advised. I love it in my living room! 😍

How I got started
I am a self taught artist. I have crafted and have done some art or craft form since I can remember. In 2006 I started working at Disney world drawing caricatures, hand drawn pastel portraits and charcoal and pencil renditions of people. Although I loved the work, it not always paid decent. So I ventured out and started selling my unique artwork (mostly children’s illustrations or my own fairy-tale characters) on eBay. Almost immediately, I started selling the work I created and made a good side income. I left Disney and got a “ normal” job but I kept selling online. By the end of the year, I had opened my first Etsy shop and developed a whole line of illustrations. I also kept selling on eBay. It was a good part-time income and together with my full time job as a Jewelry Sales Consultant I had a pretty good income. In 2009 I closed my first Etsy shop (in those days you couldn’t change the name of your store so I closed my shop and opened “PBsArtStudio”).
I also started (at my bosses insistence) doing a small hometown craft festival. Every Sunday, from 7 am-2pm, I sold physical products at a small market in Celebration, An adorable little town, in central Florida, then owned by Disney. I did that market for several months until my boss encouraged me to do bigger art shows. My income had become higher in one day than my income at my “real” job. So in 2011 I did my first Art show in south Florida and shocked myself as I brought in a higher income than a whole months salary as a Jewelry sales consultant, in just one weekend! I realized I had found my calling. I sadly left my 9-5 job and became what I now call an “Art show gypsy” doing art shows almost every weekend. I now do fine art shows through all of Florida and also venture up to northern states for yearly art shows. I just celebrated 10 years doing art shows on weekends and making a great income. It has been a dream come true and I’m so thankful people in my life supported me and encouraged me. It’s been 16 years of selling on Etsy and 10 years of working for myself! It’s been great! Thank you all who have stayed with me since the beginning and supported my venture! I hope to meet some or all of you at some point at a nearby art show. Right now, I have no plans to stop but I do love to keep growing and experimenting new art subjects, techniques and art forms! I hope for continued success and to never stop growing! I hope also to encourage others to do the same! See you soon!!
