Announcement    spreading messages of peace....
I don't know about you, but I need images of peace surrounding me in this very crazy world. I have been making my folk designs as my own therapy during stressful times. I started making paper earrings when I needed an activity to occupy me after a long recovery from surgery. Circles and mandala designs have always intrigued me and somehow provide me solace. My designs always start off as paper and pencil drawings and now I am using photoshop to colorize them. These designs have ended up on earrings, t-shirts, tote bags and cards. Some of my designs have no message...just great colors. I never leave the house unless my colors are in total harmony! Please take a glance and let me know what you think!

made with thoughts of peace and love...

made with thoughts of peace and love...and a bit about my background.

I don't know about you, but I need images of peace surrounding me in this very crazy world. I have been making my folk designs as my own therapy during stressful times. Circles and mandalas have always intrigued me and somehow provide me solace. I have created many designs in my folk-art fashion over the past many years. They always start off as paper and pencil drawings and now I am using photoshop to colorize them. These designs have ended up on earrings, t-shirts, tote bags and cards.

I love earrings and I love colors. I wear only earrings as jewelry. And now I wear only PAPER EARRINGS. It is a very bad day if my earrings don't match my outfit EXACTLY! Same for my mom. My initial goal was to have a set of earrings for my mom and me for each and every outfit. The earrings that don't work as perfect matches for our outfits end up on a board that I have always taken to my folk dance camp to sell. My daughters-in -law encouraged me to set up an ETSY shop which I finally did. You can find it on ETSY: peacefulworlddesigns. I took on a new venture this season to try my hand at craft fairs!

My dad was a coppersmith by avocation and mom a silversmith, so I was surrounded by creative makers! In grammar school I made and sold hand fashioned and painted clay bead necklaces; in high school I began making wire earrings. I have sewed ever since our 5th grade sewing class and throughout grammar school and high school I made most of my clothes. After college, I created many applique and patchwork wall-hangings, pillows, bags. I attempted to sell some and once tried a small craft show...I don't think I sold anything. I ended up giving most things away.

I have always made my own cards, as a matter of fact I don't ever remember buying a card. I even made both my wedding invitations. About twenty years ago, a nice fellow told me that I should sell my cards. I did not take him seriously....and now here I am selling my greeting cards!

*I am adding a new section to my shop, a t-shirt I designed for my Women's Bulgarian Chorus, Divi Zheni (Wild Women) and earrings to match. All proceeds from these sales go to my chorus to help those in need cover tuition costs.
