CARE OF PEARLS!
THE GOLDEN RULE - LAST ON FIRST OFF
Pearls are an organic gem and they require special care that if done will protect them for a very long time. Pearls can be harmed by contact with many chemicals found in household cleaners, perfumes, cosmetics and hair care products of all kinds. Put your pearls on last..don't spray perfume/cologne on them. Don't use an ultra sonic cleaner, or chemicals to clean them. Don't use abrasive or microfibre cloth.
After you wear your pearls just wipe them over with a soft damp cotton cloth. If you feel they need more than that due to a spill etc . Then you can wash them. See below.
To Clean pearls..just warm water and a mild soap - NOT detergent. Wash and rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a soft cotton cloth and lay out to dry.
Pearls will last for many many years with good care.

Fine pearls and artisan silver jewellery
Like many here I started with a love of jewellery and a bit of spare time when my children started school. Some of my friend took a beading class and I followed along. Little did I know where that impulsive decision would take me. Year's beading and selling my jewellery in shops led me to want better and better materials. Pearls became a new obsession. So I studied, read books, joined forums ( the Pearl Guide Forum is an excellent source of knowledge ) and finally worked up the nerve to fly to Hong Kong for a Jewellery Fair. Overwhelming is the best description. My first day I spent the entire time wandering up and down a 4 story convention centre looking at pearls and gems and tools and jewellery. I bought two strands at the end of the day.
Things improved. Over time I flew back and forth and each time I was a bit smarter with my buying. This last time..I almost got it right ! ( I got a bit carried away... ) But my goal was always to find the best merchandise from ethical sellers who treat their employees well... at the best price.
I was slightly derailed a few years ago when I wanted a large silver bead and couldn't find it anywhere. So..off I went to a Silversmith class and I've been going now for years. Here in Adelaide the excellent Diane Southwell is my instructor. Diane has been a professional bench jeweller and instructor for many years.
Now I'm thinking about adding in a bit of Gold .... where will this end... lol
But from high end pearls to simple Sterling hoops - I love it all and want every customer to be happy !

I began with beading. Gradually moving up to stringing pearls. After much study I began to fly to Hong Kong and buy directly from the large high end sellers. I hand pick every pearl . For years I've studied Silver smithing and it's my new love!

Sizing details
I have carefully measured everything with a digital calliper so do make sure that you are happy with the size - check your existing bangles etc to make sure that the size is right for you. Check the drop on your earrings to make sure that the ones you are buying will make you happy !
Care instructions
Clean silver with a silver cleaning cloth. Do not immerse Oxidised Silver in any sort of cleaner or use a cleaner on it. Just polish lightly with a Silver cloth. Any sort of liquid or paste cleaner will remove oxidation and can only be used on solid bright silver jewellery.
Sizing details
Round Bangles:
Internal measurement:
60mm = XS
62 mm = S
65mm = M
68mm = Lg
This is a rough guideline. Measure your favourite bangle across to check the measurement. The interior measurement.
Care instructions
If you purchase the Double ball earrings..do follow the instructions on how to put them on. If you force the pin and push too hard you will bend the pin. This is the only way the pin can bend. They are shipped in heavy cardboard, bubble wrapped and checked before sending. If you bend the pin , send me a note and I might have an extra pair of studs that you can have for cost + shipping.
