About

My story, the short version

I have been working with hot glass since 1990. Soon after graduating college I opened my first glass studio in my parents garage. The studio quickly outgrew the small space and I co founded “ The Works”, a co- operative studio with a Blacksmith and a woodworker. For seven years the studio thrived with the energy created by operating in close proximity to different creative people and mediums. During this time I went to work part time for Research glass incorporated, a small scientific glass blowing firm. It was working there that I developed my love of precision and detail in small-scale works. In 1999 the large glassblowing studio was sold, and the adventure of lampworking full time began. Since that time I have tried to push the boundaries of design and small-scale hot glasswork. My work is included in several private and corporate collections. Currently I work in a small shed studio, and teach intermediate and advanced classes around the country. Etsy sales have allowed me to get off the road on the Craft show circuit and stay home to both work more, and be here for the family.

Anyone who has ever watched Brad create one of his many exquisitely intricate glass beads over the torch would suspect that he was born with a glass rod in his hand. His masterful control of heat and fluid manipulation of glass seems deceptively easy
