I stock ONLY the original, hand-silkscreened chiyogami papers from Japan. I believe in the beauty and quality that comes with the handmade print, and support the manufacturers who take the time and effort to continue the tradition. While they may cost a little more, they are worth the difference. I have however seen the lesser quality paper sold at the same if not more than the original!

FOR MORE INFORMATION... or to find out how to tell if your buying the real thing... please check out my policies page!

Prices on ALL of my photos albums and several of my journals have been lowered! Some as much as 50% or more... happy shopping!!!!

Books made with handmade marbled papers are One of a Kind. So if you see something you like, grab it! I won't be making more albums or journals with these covers for a while!!!

I am happy to combine shipping. Canada Post is more expensive that USPS on single items, but combining 2 or more albums, journals, etc... is often more economical!! Feel free to convo me!

Returns and exchange details
All albums and books are insured for loss and damage and covered in your shipping costs. Regular shipping on paper does not cover loss or damage but you may request this for an additional cost. Please inquire.

If you receive one of my albums or journals and are unhappy, please contact me. In some cases, they may be returned. Once received in saleable condition, I will reimburse you the cost of the album, minus the original shipping plus %18 restocking fee. Sale items are not returnable.

Cut paper is not returnable.
Shipping
Please note that shipping via Canada Post is more expensive that USPS. In some instances, twice the cost! Costs are calculated by box size AND weight. If shipping costs far exceed what I am charged at the post office. I will happily reimburse you the difference via paypal.

All albums and books are insured.

Paper is sent via regular post. If you would like to insure and track your paper, there is an additional cost. Just ask for it in your comments section and I will send you a paypal request for that amount.

While shipping from Canada is very reliable... sometimes, packages can be delayed due to weather, customs, etc. Please be sure to order with plenty of time as I can not guarantee exact delivery days.
Additional policies and FAQs
Important note on quality!!
There are now several manufacturers who replicate Chiyogami using offset printing, a mechanical printing method used to produce large volumes of printed materials at low cost. Usually these papers have most colour layers applied at once, and then the gold detailing is added separately to make it look more authentic.

I stock ONLY the original, hand-silkscreened papers. I believe in the beauty and quality that comes with the handmade print, and support the manufacturers who take the time and effort to continue the tradition. While they may cost a little more, they are worth the difference. I have however seen the lesser quality paper sold at the same if not more than the original!

How can I recognize the real thing?
Intense colour and resistance to fading. The pigment-based inks used in authentic Chiyogami create a distinctively intense colour that stands up well to fading and use.

Colour layers. You can often see or feel the different layers of colour applied on the base sheet.

Paste residue. On the back of each sheet of genuine Chiyogami you will often find a harmless paste residue. This comes from the papers being temporarily pasted to boards as they travel from one colour station to the next.

****Wholesale pricing is available on my spiral notebooks and journals.
