About

Promoting and Preserving Our Architectural Heritage

When my husband and I bought our 1897 home we hoped to fix it up using period appropriate materials to bring it back to its former state. For years, it had been used as a rental and been severely neglected. The roof leaked, the third floor had been destroyed, the foundation was compromised, and ductwork was pumping air into an empty basement while the rest of the floors were freezing in the winter. We slowly converted it back into a single family home (our home) for a year after we purchased it and eventually moved our family in.
While working, we had a difficult time finding items such as turn-of-the-century doors and trimwork to place back into the house. The closest architectural salvage company was 50 miles from our city and we couldn't figure out why a community of our size and age didn't have their own salvage company.
After a year of hard work, we were approved to begin salvaging homes on the demo list before they were taken down to save old house materials. Previously, everything had been simply dumped into landfills. Now we are proud to be able to not only promote sustainability and reduce landfill waste, but offer quality salvage materials to home owners, artists, craftsmen, and contractors in our area, as well as around the country. We love our work and we hope you enjoy our items. Please visit us on Facebook to see more salvage and our current projects.
