This is beautiful to look at, and was promptly shipped. Maybe an adjustment could be made to the design, however? It rolls around- there are 3 very tiny dots of clay on the base, presumably to prevent this, but they're too small to serve the purpose.
Perch was started in 2004 but Amy has been making things since about 1974. Functional products cast in white earthenware turned out to be a pretty good medium for this crafty girl. And now in 2013 we are excited to be using some new materials - paper, wood, metal, pen & paper.

Mine is a story of making things - from tiny wood boats when I was a kid to sometimes way too heavy ceramic sculptures in college to nice, simple everyday products right now.
Perch! products are environmentally friendly - low impact materials and processes, non-toxic finishes and byproducts. We do our best to keep our shipping practices low impact as well.
Perch! is an advocate for a design process with time for research and fine tuning, manufacturing that supports local industries, workshops and craftspeople.
Amy Adams, the designer of all Perch! products, is from Minneapolis but lives in and cares deeply about Brooklyn. She has a few degrees - in Art (Iowa State) and Design (Pratt). The name Perch! actually came from the plan to design and make furniture - stools specifically.
