Designing Fantastic Coffee Mugs
We design our mugs by starting with an idea and finding an attractive and often humorous way to work that idea onto the very small space of a coffee mug. We use Adobe Illustrator for most of our designs. Therefore we are able to customize just about any design.
Designing and producing mugs is not terribly difficult, but it involves many steps that require design skills, computer skills, manual dexterity, patience, and attention to detail. Here are some of the main steps we employ in the end-to-end process:
DESIGN: We use Adobe Illustrator CS5, which gives us great latitude to generate vector-based designs that can be scaled to any size. We also use Photoshop as required when we want to use a bitmap image in the design. Since we don't simply copy and paste designs from the web, we can customize just about any mug we list for sale.
PRINTING: In order to create a permanent and dishwasher-safe image on our mugs, we use the dye sublimation process. This process involves gel inks that are applied to a blank mug and are heated to 400 degrees in order to transfer and chemically bind the gel to the mug material itself. The printing of the image takes place on a printer with these specialized inks onto unique transfer paper.
PRESSING: A blank mug is selected and checked for any damage or imperfections. The printed transfer is **carefully** applied to the mug so that it is properly aligned. Dust and fibers must be avoided during this process, lest the mug be ruined. The mug with the taped-on transfer is then placed in a dedicated mug heat press for about 3 minutes. When complete, the mug is removed and immediately cooled to avoid out-gassing that can ruin the mug's appearance. The finished mug is inspected, and if it does not pass our quality standards it is trashed and re-done.
PACKING and SHIPPING: The finished mug(s) are packaged in a way to prevent even the harshest handling from breaking them. Shipping labels are printed and applied to the box. Delivery is then made to the local post office, usually on a daily basis.
Now that you know more about our process, we hope you will appreciate all of the work that goes into a beautiful-looking but very affordable coffee mug. We hope we have the opportunity to produce a mug for your very own, or as a special gift from you.

Owner, Creator, Designer
Although an engineer by trade I like to create things in my spare time. I've been an avid photographer for a number of years, and now I enjoy creating designs for mugs and other products.
We take quality very seriously. If we produce a mug that we would not ourselves accept then we remake it. We use high-quality vector-based designs with a top-quality printer and mug press. We are very accessible, and if you have any questions before, during, or after your order is completed we will answer them quickly.
We hope to hear from you soon.

We ship most days, via USPS Priority mail. Shipping times are 1-3 days, with "most" locations in the US being 2-day shipping, but some take 3 days. If you need it faster let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
All items are shipped in appropriate packing materials, using bubble wrap and other materials whenever needed. Smaller, lighter items may not require bubble wrap, but mugs will use bubble wrap.
USPS Priority is fairly reliable, but we CANNOT guarantee shipping times, especially in winter when weather is more of a problem. If your item arrives late due to a shipping delay there is nothing we can do about it.
If you absolutely need your item by a certain date you should order EARLY and give yourself a few extra business days to account for potential shipping days. If you are up against a deadline we offer Expedited shipping (see below).
EXPEDITED SHIPPING (***NOTE: We cannot offer expedited shipping at this moment due to a lack of proper shipping materials. USPS Priority is our standard shipping method right now.)
We offer Expedited shipping via USPS Priority Express for US customers only. This is a guaranteed service, which means in the unlikely event of a late delivery the full cost of the purchase + shipping is recoverable.
You can select this option during Checkout. Shipping time is 1 day to most US locations. Mug production time can be as short as same-day if ordered in the morning, but contact us for an exact production time if you are concerned.
For larger orders please contact us for a quote.
International orders (outside the US) are shipped via USPS First Class International. International orders can take from a few days up to a few weeks to deliver. Please be patient after your order is shipped.
WARNING: Some countries, like the UK, charge additional Import taxes on certain goods. The buyer is completely responsible for paying any such import taxes. If the taxes are not paid the local government may return the package to us. If that happens no refund will be given.
LOSS or DAMAGE
DOMESTIC: If your item gets lost or damaged during shipping (it's rare, but it can happen) we can submit the insurance claim to the USPS and re-make your item. If you received a damaged item you need to retain the damaged item(s) and the packaging so we can submit the insurance claim, and please send us photos of everything. We will gladly send you a replacement ASAP if you can help us by following these requests.
INTERNATIONAL: If your item gets lost or damaged during shipping we will re-make the damaged item and re-ship ONE TIME. We can only re-make the item once - if the replacement item is damaged we will NOT replace it. We require that you send us photo(s) of the damaged item(s).
In general we are NOT responsible for shipments made to incorrect addresses. We are only given a single shipping address by Etsy, and that is what we use.
We see three common problems: (1) Addresses that are simply invalid, which the USPS tells us are invalid (2) Wrong street or ZIP code, although it is still valid, and (3) Good address but the buyer actually intended to enter a different shipping address.
If we detect a bad address (1) we will try to request a correction from the buyer before shipping. We cannot help (2) and (3), so if the address is valid we will ship to it.
Refunds and Exchanges
We can issue refunds if we have not yet produced your item(s). But be aware that we sometimes make mugs very soon after an order is placed, and if that happens we cannot cancel your order.
