I just hand whipped a fresh and small batch of lavender body butter! It smells like lavender oils oozing from their buds right into the room and the texture is my favorite! I sit here packaging the body butter into the containers, weighing them out!angelskin-tone-2herb

About

"What we need, it's already in our kitchen, be it food or be it beauty"

hi ya!

I am thankful that you want to learn my story ! It is a simple one and this is how it began :
An year ago, with a very little savings I had, I travelled to Europe to broaden my horizons. I have a friend there and their family graciously took me in at Czech Republic. Living with them, I learnt and felt how far away we have went away from a natural and simple lifestyle. They are a family of 6 and lived in a dainty, cozy apartment. Almost every furniture in their house was made by my friend's dad and every meal was home cooked by her mom. They decorated the house with handmade gifts and their beauty routine was so simple yet they were so beautiful. I was struck! Awestruck with their lives! It was so simple yet so rich. So simple yet so beautiful and I knew right then, that was the life I wanted to live for the rest of my life.
I then came back to the States and delved into a minimalist lifestyle. Got rid of everything I did not need, threw away all the store bought cosmetics that was not good for me ultimately, donated most of my cloths and most importantly, looked back into my Indian roots.
In India, we make everything by hand and being blessed with a tropical climate year long, we grew all the herbs, roots, plants needed for every single thing. We knew what mix of roots and grains to use for bath, what nuts to use for hair, what herbs to improve complexion and what powders to avoid unwanted hair. Yet, the compulsory consumerism culture affected us too and we are slowly moving away from our traditional and holistic approach to life and beauty. I felt it was my responsibility to preserve those traditional, simple and natural secrets and recipes that were passed on to me and pass it onto my next. At the same time, I also wanted to introduce this to the western world, that it is possible to slowly learn about natural bath and body practises, that help is always out there when needed.

I know it can be overwhelming for a non-Indian customer, what all these products in my shop are and how they can incorporate them in their lives. That is why I wrote a detailed description of every product to help you understand the product more and what it does to you and your skin, which is our biggest organ.

I hope you begin your journey to a healthy life here and I am ever so grateful that you chose me to be a part of your healthy life!

I also blog about my handmade diys and minimalist life. you can read about it at http://www.atinylife.com .

have a love filled day!
much love,
Sri
