Announcement   Petersen Pottery Company ceramics are made for each person to have the opportunity to experience the unique energy of handmade.

Currently we are spread out over a few sites: a throwing studio and office in Eagle Rock, CA and a high-fire kiln studio in Glendale and a combination of the two at a membership studio in Pasadena. Some of our wares are hand thrown on the potters wheel and some are pressed using a industrial ram press. Each product description will share how that particular design is ultimately produced. Petersen ceramics are fired twice in a gas fueled, high temperature, reduced oxygen environment. They are food safe and can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

Some pieces evolved through a relationship with one of our amazing chefs, for instance the Fire Table Bowl. Some like the Nantucket Collection developed from a personal need for a simply handsome planter for our garden's succulents.. Everything here at Petersen is inspired by natural occurrences and is developed directly by Petersen with clay, through a process of discovery.

Artist Statement:

“I grew up with the luxury of making my way with the natural environment of mountains, shrubs, rocks and bugs. I dug in the dirt and saw up close before I could quantify the beauty of a line embedded in a rock. I watched out my window the needles and leaves of the trees waving from the gentle California breeze. These childhood memories inspire my life attitude and sensibility towards living, working and making.”

Please email sara [!at] petersenpottery.com if you have any questions.

We offer and encourage local pick-up service.

Shiny whites and sandy hues, muddy clay and beach blues...thank you for your support of art, artisans & made in america.
