Announcement   Welcome to our shop!
Richard and Carolyn are both independent artists who have decided to collaboratively produce a line of pet jars. Richard produces the pot and the glaze, and Carolyn adds the finishing touch of the pet sculpture atop the pot. The finished piece is then fired in Richard's large gas kiln.

Many people use our pet jars simply for display, in order to celebrate a loved pet's presence with a handmade jar. Others have chosen to use them for treat jars, or dog biscuit storage. Some people have turned them into a repository for a loved pet's cremains. You can order the jar by itself, or you can also order one of Richard's handmade ceramic bases for the jar. If you want one of these, just order it as a separate item.

We work on a line of generic animals perched on a variety of shapes and sizes of pots, but most of our work, and the part we love best, is doing a personal pot and sculpture of one of your favorite pets. Convo us if you are interested in having us work up a piece for you, or check out our pieces for sale in the shop. Carolyn also does lots of individual personalized freestanding sculpture of pets, as well as generic or personalized clay tiles.

Carolyn's other work can be seen at:
http://www.carolynsjing.etsy.com

And not to be too macabre, but we will include capacity in cubic inches for our pet jars/urns. FYI, the industry standard is that 1 pound of body weight translates to 1 cubic inch of cremains.

Shop policies

Hi,
All of our work is handmade, every ounce, every square inch of it.
We fire our pieces to 2380 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes the clay vitreous, impermeable, and liable to last for thousands of years, given proper and loving care. The glazes we use are created by Richard, and contain no harmful ingredients, so the pots are able to be used safely in whichever way you choose, save putting them directly on an open heat source. We hope the pieces give you as much pleasure to own as they gave us when me made them!

Payment
We accept Paypal or your personal check. If sending a check, please let us know, and we will then ship your piece as soon as the check is received. As of June of 2008, New York State has sadly imposed an 8% sales tax on all purchases over the internet, regardless of your location, so please include that amount in your purchase price.
Shipping
We pack very carefully, and have been packing and shipping for many years, with great success. All our materials are biodegradable and/or recycled, so as to lessen our impact on our already stressed planet. When affordable, we ship Priority Mail via USPS, or if that is too expensive, Parcel Post.
Refunds and Exchanges
Our aim is to make you a happy customer. Any problems will be dealt with cheerfully, with the aim of satisfying you.
Additional policies and FAQs
We sell our work in galleries across the country, so if you wish to see some in person, or carry it in your shop, convo us for further information.
Custom orders are always welcome, whether it is a special sized jar, or for your own pet...just convo us with your needs and we'll work things out. If you are interested in a freestanding sculpture, convo Carolyn and she will take it from there.
