Tracy Antonik is not only an incredible artist, she’s also psychic! When I typed “Paris bridges jewelry” into Etsy’s search engine, secretly praying for an image of the Pont Neuf… BANG! There it was! Beautifully etched onto a glinting piece of brass, hanging from a dainty silver chain! How did she know it was exactly what I was looking for? And how was she able to recreate it at such a reasonable price? MAGIC! Strangers admire it on the subway! She’s now working on another one for me of a statue of the French martyr St. Denis, holding his severed head in both hands. If you’re looking for an artist who can transform images into stunning jewelry at a reasonable price, Tracy Antonik is your woman! Tina Levy

I received this one month and one day after I'd paid for it; I had to write twice to inquire and was given excuses and promises. This is my first bad experience with an Etsy order.

About

Jewelry Maker & Mom

I went to ICM School of Business in Pittsburgh and soon after graduating, went to work for my parents company. On the side, I always had some type of creative project going and for a few years it was working on restoring and renovating a 1930's home. I have always admired stained glass art especially from the 30's. I took a class along with two of my friends and we made lamps:) I was hooked on stained glass and built a studio in the basement of that 1930's home, big enough for all three of us to work.

I made stained glass panels for friends and family as gifts and I started getting encouragement to sell them. I sold my glass wall and window panels at art shows and at a local farmers market every Saturday morning for a few years and then I had my two boys. I didn't completely abandon my creative side during that time though. I could no longer make stained glass panels because I was concerned about the potential toxic fumes from the solder and shows were too consuming with being a new mom. I wanted to create something small enough to sell online and ship. That's when I experimented with glass and wire jewelry.

I found Etsy 10 years ago, my shop has evolved over the years, I've started making metal jewelry and I have always loved collaborating with other artists. At the moment, I'm featuring a lot of work from Carol Holmes, cholmesart.wordpress.com. I found her work and fell in love with her images and her story. She also just happened to be a fellow North Carolina artist.

A lot of what I make is influenced by my connection and love for stark contrast, silhouettes, especially bare tree branches. I see them as an architectural element in an image and I also love the symbolism behind the birds, branches and trees. Growth. Grounded. Connected. I just want to keep making things that I want to wear and hope that others will like it enough to want to wear it too.

I'm conversation friendly so please feel free to ask questions or if you have any requests. I do sell wholesale and local consignment (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill)

xo,
Tracy
