Stephanie makes her hand painted tumblers, steep-rimmed plates, and beautiful bowls in an 8x10 tuff shed in her Nevada City backyard.
No joke.
She's been working with clay since high school, where the ceramics room was a "magical place" for her. Her pieces have a playful yet grounded feel to them--kind of like their namesake, her sweet little dog Pickle. She thanks her grandmothers for instilling in her the balanced nature she depends on as a working artist.
When asked what makes Pickle Pottery unique, she told us: "I do! It's my Wabi Sabi aesthetic, my marks, my lines that are one of a kind. Each piece of pottery is hand thrown and hand decorated by me. No two are the same."

Shop policies
Thank you for visiting Pickle Pottery! Each piece is individually made by hand with a Wabi Sabi approach. This means that each piece is a unique piece of art, no two are ever exactly the same.
The process of making ceramic art is quite labor intensive. Each piece is thrown on a pottery wheel, bisque fired, hand decorated, glazed fired, & sometimes decorated and fired one additional time! I love what I do & am happy you are interested in my work!
