Announcement   Welcome to "Picture a Tale", the shop for nursery art with a story!

The concept and illustrations from the shop came together as a combination of many things dear to me: books, old stories and rhymes, folk art, history, animals and, well, children.

As an illustrator, I found that simple pictures can make little minds wonder, and that is the main goal for the "Picture a Tale" prints. Whether they illustrate a tale or a nursery rhyme, they are also meant to take the child along in a magical journey through new imaginary worlds.

All the images are beautiful, durable giclée fine art prints. The prints in the Brothers Grimm series come accompanied by the story they illustrate in a booklet printed on recycled paper.

To keep in touch and find out more about Picture a Tale, or if you just like the same things I do (I talk about them a lot), try one of these:

About

Nursery art with a story!

Picture a Tale is the place for nursery art that goes beyond illustrations. What best to start with than the stories and rhymes so familiar that it would be hard to imagine generations of children growing up without them.

It all started in 2010, with a series of 7 paintings, illustrating 7 classical tales by the Brothers Grimm. Each nursery art print has its own story. While captivating and wise in their own right, these tales are meant to inspire new adventures as imagined by children and parents. The most recent series of illustrations are based on Mother Goose nursery rhymes, playful and, often, deeply rooted in historical events.

Stories and rhymes blend with the artwork to bring to little eyes stimulating images, but also help the little minds create their own.

None of it is accidental, but a blend of past and present interests and causes, familiar cultures and favorite artistic styles.

I sometimes describe myself as an amateur physicist, on track to demonstrate the elasticity of time, spending most of my day taking care of “3 under 4″, and most of the rest drawing and dealing with the ins and outs of an online store.
I have lived in 3 different countries (and an island) and love them all.
I have a long-lasting love for books, old things and, above all, old books and I am a believer that literacy can change the world.

Additional policies and FAQs
* * Care information

Giclée prints on canvas are relatively durable and require little care. If dust accumulates, they can be wiped lightly with a damp cloth. They should not be revarnished. Although the inks on giclées are very stable it is still best to keep your giclée out of direct sunlight.
