I come from a very artistic background. Some of my oldest and fondest memories are creating artwork with my Mom and Grandmother. I remember China paintings in my Grandmothers craft room before I was even in grade school and sitting with my mom learning to count stitches while creating a little sail boat. My Dad is a master fabricator and wood craftsman who I owe a lot of my wood working skills to. I still work with my father to this day. He makes almost all the blank wood items I wood burn (Pyrography).
Around the year 1998 I got a piggy and did not realize how hard it was to get information and vet help at that time. The vet suggested I contact Noah’s ark who was extremely helpful. I started making artwork for Noah’s Ark Potbellied Pig Rescue to auction for piggies in need and have since helped many animals in need around the world.
I opened my etsy shop in August 2007 on etsy www.pigatopia.etsy.com and I have been making artwork professionally ever sense.
I love what I do. I get to capture memories with my artwork. "They say "The beauty of artwork is in the eye of the beholder". Based on past customers/fans reviews and feedback, I feel comfortable in saying this. My clients Trust Me with their Most Treasured, Prized Family Members. Some are still with us, some have already passed on. Because of this, I take my responsibility Very Seriously. I've been told my work has brought people peace and comfort in the loss of their baby. I've captured a moment in their babies life, that otherwise, would have been lost to the fog of time. I've been told I've given families a priceless treasure, their baby to the last detail, to forever hold a place of honor in their home. I'm proud to say I'm responsible for an ocean of happy tears flowing when people see my rendition of their family member. For that, I'm grateful.”
