About

Pigeon be Pigeon Started From Quitting a Job And Taking That Leap Of Faith

It was the 2009 and the height our economic downfall. I have been on unemployment for about a year which I saved all up and had enough money for 3 months worth of rent in an art studio on the corner of Grand Street and Morgan Ave. in East Williamsburg. An old co Worker offered me a job working in inventory for a high end clothing boutique in Soho which only lasted me 2 months. The people there were so rude and the way they treated others below them was just horrendous. They trained me specifically for the holiday rush but ended up quitting just a day before black Friday. During the time I have been printing in my studio after work. After I quit my job, I took about 20 t shirts I have printed in various sizes and started selling on the Corner of Prince street and Broadway. I was super shy and totally sucked at selling, but I just told them my customers how I just wanted to print and make stuff. And this lifestyle has not changed since then. I've sold all over Manhattan and Brooklyn and had my fair share of tickets and arrests. The Amount of rules this city has against street selling is quite extensive but if you truely love what you do, you don't let that stop you.

Since then, I've dipped my hand in various markets and found a permanent market to sell at in Artists and Fleas in Williamsburg. The people here are amazing and their stories on how they started their journey was very inspiring to keep me going in this quirky way of life.

I love making all sorts of things. From screen printing, Jewelry, to carpentry. My most recent passion has been for designing and building unique displays for markets and stores. Currently, Bushwick part of Brooklyn always printing and building.
